The recent rape of a 3 year old girl by 3 men confirms this. IIRC, they found her because she was in a car accident.. her servere injuries were not caused by the accident, but my the rape itself Actually, the death penalty would be too lenient for these monsters.
I once suggested using people like fred west for animal experiments , surely that would be more ethical than torturing some poor rabbit . the only problem I can see is the risk that we might experiment on a innocent person .
Terrible things like this can happen, yes. But all in all I just dont think the death penalty is the answer. Causing death is just simply wrong, institutionalised death even worse.
well I personally dont think that causing death is allways wrong under all circumstances, if you have someone just about to shoot 100 people shooting that person would be the right thing to do. as for torturing rapists lets say my worry is the effect it would have on the person torturing
I'd like to see the death penalty for burglary. Not for first time offenders but for habitual repeat offenders. Burglary ruines lives and causes untold distress to the victims. The two men who burgled Tony Martin had around 40 previous convictions between them, so what he did was absolutly right. He removed from society two of the most evil villians in the country who have cost society millions. A person should also have the right to feel and be safe and secure in their own home!
Well, wait til the Islamics take over and they'll be flogging people for drinking pints and delimbing people for thievery.
Killing criminals though is not murder unless the crime being punished is so small or if it is a first offence. Habitual criminals though who offend again and again and again need to be dealt with very severly and if that means having to kill them to stop them re-offending then so be it.
But it is murder. in my eyes there is no justification for killing another human being. If the government set an example like the death penalty might not people think it alright to take it into their own hands to bring "justice" to those people. And who decides who's to die and for what crimes? Is a low life burgler worse than a crooked politician or policeman? You are presuming that the justice system is efficient. If i had a pound for every innocent person in jail i'd be a millionaire. Tony Martin, who was mentioned earlier in the thread, we agree should not have gone to prison for protecting his property< but he still went down. 121 says 3 men raped the little girl at the start of this thread. 2 of these men have been released without charge. It was only the newspapers who reported 3 rapists. It's this kind of knee-jerk reaction which leads to injustice in our society. If i were on a jury and i was 99 percent sure of the criminal being guilty i still would not vote for guilty because i would not want to be responsible for an innocent man going down (or maybe killed if most people had it their way)
hi i see your point elfriend i see it in the way of no one has the right to put pain and suffering on to another person and no one (this subject makes me very upset) has the right to put pain and suffering on to animals. Thorn x x
