i have a staffordshire bull terrier bitch, shes six months old and i got her from my cousin 3 days ago because she has seperation anxiety (i think that is what its called) anyway she will not eat out of her bowl :$ also she rarely eats dog food as she prefers the human delicacy (sometimes).

does anyone have an idea how i can get her to indulge?

Staff Pic (this is not my staff but a pic to show what breed i am talkin' 'bout)

Thank you in advance for any suggestions

my dog has problems with eating out of her bowl as well. i sometimes hand feed her her food or if i dont have time to do that (and i dont want her to depend on me for that all the time) i will put the food on some tin foil or a dinner plate (or a paper plate) and she seems to do better that way.

also, are you feeding her commercial dog food? if so you should really change it. ive known many dogs who wouldnt touch that stuff and with good reason. try switching to a quality brand.......i can give you some suggestions if you need....

You can also try feeding her human food in her food bowl and gradually mix in dog food until eventually, she's just getting dog food. By then she may be used to it.

yeah, if the problem was that her previous people only fed her "human" food then having her take to regular dog food will not be an easy task but leanans suggestion about mixing the food is a great idea and the better quality the food the more likely she is to take to it. dogs know if they are eating crap and commercial dog food is crap. (i actually have no idea what you feed her, just throwing out suggestions). i prefer to order my dogs food online since i can get organic free range, but if you dont want to do that there are some good brands at petsmart........NurtoMax is a decent brand and my dogs (who are picky eaters) were eating that at one time and they LOVED it.

thank you both, i will try your advice.

Honey (my dog, has me worried) I've recently been feeding her by hand too but she is so picky about what she eats. she loves the sweet stuff hence the name. ive been tryin to feed her asdas own brand of puppy food, pedigree and them doggy assortment bags. she only eats a little bit and then shes bored of it.

ive searched for nurtomax but i cant find it. is it an american brand?
