Check out the new Napster campaign in the UK: www.getthewholething.com. Why is it that European commercials are so much racier than ones in the US? Is it a good thing that we don't have this on tv, or is it overly conservative? What do you think?
Can't really make a true comparison (haven't watched American commericals), but I am British. For the record, that is not typical of our advertising. We have very strict standards of decency and what have you. That kind of thing would not go out on television unless it was pretty late at night, if at all. Guess when you grow up with it you don't really notice the culture, sex sells though and it's pretty common practise to go with more subtle things (chicks in bikinis, innuendos, etc). Maybe it is a good thing it's not in USA. There is such a sense there of 'christian family values' (thanks to Bush et all). So I get the impression that Americans would be more likely to be hideously offended and complain. Where as in Europe people just don't care. We're so used to it, it's like 'yeah breasts, all women have them, big deal' and go on our merry way. Ocassionally things will be considered too much and get complained about. For the most part though people don't seem to mind, maybe we're just getting jaded.
I looked at the video after I posted--no way could the video be shown here on commercial tv.There'd be hell to pay.HBO--maybe.This is a strange country when it comes to sex.
This may be able to play on a late night cable tv channel like Comedy Central or something like that-- I liked the mash up of Cream although I've never heard of the other artist- have you?
I don't think half of the sex and innuendo and such that are in commercials are even necessary. Having some chick wave her boobs around doesn't make me want to buy mutual funds or cell phones or whatever any more than if i didn't see the commercial.
so, im assuming by your post your not attracted to women Seriously though don't even try and understand the opposite sex, goes for both guys and girls, we're just too different. Tolerate, co-exist with, and enjoy the company of yes but no chance in hell is true understanding possible.
LOL-yeah, there's no sense in trying to understand why men can't help but to be allured by women like the napster girl but women at the same way toward men--sometimes, after a few drinks on a girl's night out. I'd be interested in seeing a male version and seeing if woman are just as excited.

as hot as the girl is and as much as i like watching it..c'mon! that stuff shouldnt be on tv where little kids can see. This is clearly sexual, so its not just a puritanical "no boob mentality"
