I noticed the attempts of birds
to meet you in the quiet
    moments of the year,

    the sigh that sometimes comes
    from having
    two long wings of rain

    Your hair of dark straw
    adrift in the snowy fields

    mostly it was the dress
    you wore like mumbling flowers
    or the rhythm of it
taking notes on the strain of silence
like the path of a sun-bleached star

    with eyes always watching
the distance from mouth to song

Gorgeous...very very poetic, gentle strokes and lots of beauty.

I'm extremely impressed. This is the first poem that I read here- and I think it is quite good. The images in the poem were very vivid and alive. Thanks!
