I would love to find a retreat to go to alone or even a couples retreat that has meditation... and maybe tantric sex... know of any??
Tantric is a good band, I've been interested into retreats... I wonder if their are any Buddhist temples in Alabama...
There aren't so many retreats in Buddhism in the West where tantric sex is explicitly detailed. Though often the consort and consort practices are given during tantric initiations, nonetheless, because it's still mostly monks of one sort or another the details for the consort practices aren't given so much. For a path with a guru who seems to have the spiritual versus sexual foundations of understanding and the powerful shakti of a real lineage I recommend the Hindu Sri Vidya cult of Swami Amritananda at this site http://www.vi1.org/index.asp . Later, after developing some actual practice you might become more intellectually interested in Buddhist tantra and you will then have some tantric and meditation experience for a better grasp even of the Buddhist practices. I have no affiliation with the Swami but I fifnd Sri Vidya certainly the most fascinating still-extant tantra available.
Also remember to examine the guru and the teachings before feeling the need to commit to the guru. You know Greengoddess, after viewing some of your pics I'm tempted to take you on as a student myself
lol.. why thank you.. I was just thinking of some place that is like a week long thing that helps couples get closer by introducing them to things like the stuff I described...
Actually, you might have to do some more Hindu type retreats and then combine what you learn with your Buddhist path if you're interested. I know Yogi Bhajan has some retreats. I'm not sure you will like the dress and order of their societies. But they teach some couple techniques. I think the most common are eye staring and han holding where you you use the partner to experience finer levels of feeling and vision. I had some tantric experiences when I went to Maharishi International University. It would have been hard not to be in a four year retreat environment having sex and not experience more energy and awareness than is common in society. Lots of unity, etc... unfortunately such things I cannot teach since they were spontaneous and not based on techniques. Honestly, if you're really wanting to experience the deepest sexual experience then I recommend retreating in some co-educational environment where you can find a mature partner who can support your needs and wishes. It might sound hard to find but it's not. There are so many Buddhist centers around the country where people retreat. I mean, it's unlikely that people will go on them to hook up, but then maybe you can give us hope in that department True tantric sex depends upon true liberated awareness and stable shamatha or shine, that is, silent meditation. One is really seeking to find the same light that one experiences within during intense meditations but all the while during union. You might find that the unbounded experiences sought through tantra might be yours even without the partner, and then someday, when the path is right, you might be utilized in the form of the path of worship, in Buddhist tantra, as the union of form and emptiness and bliss, or in Hindu tantra as the form of the Goddess. Your choice. The teachings are out there. For the serious seeker. I suppose people come to the path for all reasons. There are worse ones then to experience sex in a cosmic way.
PS. If you're serious and you do find valid paths then please come back here and let us know what they are. Many people I'm sure wish to find them. I would recommend the works of Stephen Chang, though I wouldn't recommend accepting it all as verbatim truth.
hhmm thank you much for the info.. I'm going to have to look him up.. I'm real excited to find something.. that connection has got to be just sooo amazing..
