Are all guys out there to hurt you?

Now this isnt a real question, it's just kinda seemed every guy I've come around recently has ended up being a jerk and so I guess more then anything I'm just seeing if any of you all can relate.

Are most guys jerks, are you a jerk yourself?

I have met jerky straight and gay men, but I've met jerky women, too. And well, one thing -teenagers in general can be very self centered. As boys get on with life and get away from school they can change dramatically. Some of those jerks grow up and others remain emotional cripples. I hate to say this, but look at a book called Men are from Mars Women are from Venus.. I haven't read the book, but folks who have say they can't put it down. In a lighthearted way Dr. Grey writes about the conflicting goals and communication styles of men and women. All those things that make men seem like a "jerk" and women seem like "witches." It should be available at any library. It may help you understand the jerky behavior of your suitors.

Another old saw is "what kind of man are you seeing?" I just watched the opening episode of Beauty and the Geek, a reality tv show that pits teams of Beauty queens with nerdy geniuses. The goal is for them to learn from each other. But the Geeks, the men, are kind, considerate, and caring young men. And by their own admission -undateable. The Beauties concur. If you haven't heard it before, there are two sides to your question; 1: Why are men such jerks, or 2: Why am I always attracted to men who will hurt me?

p.s. to any straight boys reading this, if you ever wondered why that drop dead gorgeous woman is dating that nerd, stop wondering. There's no mystery there.
