Skinny Puppy and diaspora (Front Line Assembly, Download, etc) - Tangerine Dream - Aphex Twin (there's a guy who likes to innovate) - Walter/Wendy Carlos and Yello.
Tangerine Dream is classic and innovative, even in their Prog Rock days. One can't certainly forget Mr or Ms.Carlos.What about Vangelis...and I'm not talking about his New Age stuff.Goblin in their zany years did alot of awesome stuff(For God's sake they did the soundtrack to Dawn of the Dead.)Kraftwerk is definately there on the list. But if you want Industrial,I say the top 5 are Throbbing Gristle,Front 242,Skinny Puppy,Ministry, and Front Line Assembly(I was going to put in Nine Inch Nails...but Mr. Reznor strayed away from his electronic roots to pursue a career in Angst Rock.)
conspirator lotus steve reich (lots of diff instruments some are electronic though) ozric tentacles PNUMA maybe--jacob fred jazz odyssey (not elec. but very very out there musically) Mocean Worker -to name some electronic ones...Hope this helps, peace
tangerine dream eno curtains for maestro (there's one i'm sure you guys won't know) steve roach dreams of dying stars
I'm just getting into this scene but have dug STS9, Mocean Worker, Lotus. Brothers Past mixes it into their sound too.
