I'm getting a physical soon for volleyball and I was just wondering if they include drug tests in with the physical? I know they didn't used to but maybe its different now that i'm alot older...
I doctor isn't supposed to let your parents know, because of the whole doctor/patient confidentiality law. Emphasis on supposed. Just because it's the law, doesn't mean they will obey it.
Yea, if you're 18 though, just tell them not to drug test your urine, thats what i did when i got my physical. I simply told em not to and that they didn't have a right to without my permission, and they listened.
Are you sure this applies to minors under the age of 18? I didn't play any sports during high school, so I never had to receive a physical with the potential for a drug test. Only the yearly physical to make sure my body wasn't deteriorating. I have a sneaking suspicion that doctors can, and are obligated by law, to inform the parents if a child tests positive for any illicit substances. I'm not sure though; I heard that along the line somewhere. You might want to research this subject on the internet. Good luck and I hope things turn out in your favor.
parents can only be told if they specificly ask for the test. If the doctor just does it, which they wouldn't, since it costs money, he can't tell anyone. ...i think
yeah drug tests are expencive. i dont know why they would test you unless they where specificly asked too. and i dont know if its this way everywhere but in my town/county we dont get drug tested at our local doctors office or any other doctors office around here. we have to go to a specific drug testing office.
