I can't believe it, this is even more of an amazing discovery than it sounds. I have felt that I have been running around in a digital universe for to long I have almost forgotten that their is another way to be. I have had just the faint memory that everything looked and felt different once...more real. I have noticed for a while now that looking at analog photography changes my perceptions and helps my headaches. Only now has it struck me as to how. The mind's eye has it's own white balance, it's own sence of focus. If you feel you are running around in a digital universe, try this and get back to me- get rid of everything digital in your immediate vicinity, put on a record or tape, (silence works too) and look at a book of analog photography under natural light... It changes more than just the focus of your eyes and ears, old memories and feelings will creep back as well.
Sigh, kids these days. I wouldn't be surprised if their souls were burnt to CD's already, lol! (Seriously, kids these days are great, but many are just too into computers. I swear my little brother is "In" his computer.)
lmao...it doesn't seem like we are too far away from that at the moment. *gets chills* I shudder to even think about it.
I think i know what you are talking about . i would much rather listen to a record than a cd anyday. but tapes suck alltogether. i remember when i used to get all these thrift store stereos and rig them up all crazy all the time i was focusing on the nuances of the analog sound that is more precise than the digitized version could be.
I noticed it when I was working with analog vs digital video. It is harder to use but so much more intuitive that I had a much easier time expressing myself artistically. Digital media feels like it exists on a whole other dimension than my human feelings.
