Just got his new album, anyone heard it, he released it himself and it got nominated for a Mercury music prize this year in the UK, anyway it's top stuff, great melodies, quite poppy in places, well worth checking out :)

I just got it to-day - I agree it's worth checking out - his songs are very good.

Only thing I can find fault with is Seth's singing - I feel his voice may lack a certain resonance - But overall he's good.
And he's young, and I'm sure we'll be hearing more from him.
    Overall 7 out of 10.

my only fault with it is it sounds a bit too slick in places for my liking, it's a very modern sounding album, I like my folk with some rawness for authenticity sake, but most of the tunes on the album are so brilliant it more than makes up for it. I hear a little bit of a Jeff Buckley influence on his vocal style.

Yeah - the sound is polished - but perhaps that's just modern production up to a point. I too like stuff with that raw edge to it - but I also agree that Seth's stuff is so good that it comes through anyway :sunglasse

saw him live in bristol he was great .....except when he sang to me he seemed to be gurning (thats making funny faces ) in his case awful pained faces

it put me off somewhat and although the man is otherwise great I feel it will stop him from being a massive star

I got his album a while ago now, and I think it's great. It does have a very polished sound, but I agree he still comes through it anyway.
