Okay, so someone with a bigass truck ran into my car while it was parked at a store and further screwed up the already screwed up-ness in my car. The Dealer is trying to charge $1900 so it'll pass inspection... then I found a guy that'd do the same job for $400. (The exhaust system was totally ripped off of the engine block, and it was already a leak... they want to reinstall an entire new system, the other guy wants to cut it into pieces and weld it back together) Chickenfuckers. I just want an olddddddass volvo or something that gets good mileage, doesn't grind rice, parts are easier to find (there are some kickass old junkyards around here), and doesn't cost a trillion dollars to work on. Toyotas suck ass, but at least I got it for nothing. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Volvo-240-1991-Volvo-240-Leather-Sunroof-CD_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQcategoryZ31877QQitemZ4599324721QQrdZ1
Whoah, that happened to me yesterday as well. I had parked my car (a Volvo by the way ) outside this one shop and while I was away someone had ran into it and put a big dent in front of it. Actually it was my dad's car which makes it even worse coz he of course blamed it on me. Oh well, at least it's no my problem to get it fixed. Anyway, sorry to hear about your car George.
damn bro i didn't have any problems such as people running into our cars BUT our mercury doesn't work (or is in the shop) the heater didn't work but it turned out to be worse and they had to end up taking the whole intake manifold off to change something it's been in the shop since like...friday then on christmas eve as i was going to pick up my mom our blazer just died as i was on the way there, i had to roll in their driveway "well, ma, i'm here to pick you up, but...uh..." haven't had a vehicle since and have been home for the past 3 days maybe i can't get somewhere today god i hope so
It's been driving from shop to shop for the past two days, for me. (Always happens at x-mas, doesn't it?) I was hoping I'd get around to do some more job applications and interviews today... but... Looks like I'm just going to sit here and wait till something hits me.
Sorry bout yours too. I could use a vacation... can't frickin wait for Smilefest and Haymaker to hit me. rawr.
myvolvo's gas tank has a whole at the top and i accidentlyfilled it too much and so i had the firestation and such at the gas station and now i have to get the tank replaced which is like 900 dollars. boooooo ://////
my cousins car was hit so many times when it was parked, his insurance agency tried to classify him as a "high risk driver" i hate alberta's insurance
bummer my grand parents used to have an old volvo station wagon out front the house i would sit in it and smoke nugs aww props to teh volvo
hahahaha im sorry but thats funny..I know it sucks to have your car hit, but haha im sorry thats just funny... Coming from someone whos had over 7 accidents (people hitting me) it sucks ass to have someone hit your car...
Old ass Volvos seriously suck. My sister had one, it was such a piece of shit. I love the new ones though.
A Volvo costs more to repair/breaks down more often than a Benz. Get a Datsun 510 or MB 300D - they're pretty well indestructable. They had to be to survive my sister...
I just share my dad's car, which is an old honda accord from '94. It needs to be repaired right now, because it squeaks constantly...
Reason for Volvos: My neighbor owns like... six oldass volvos (one of his sons bought one with a turbo for $800, after some dude hit a deer with it), including his first he got in 1978. They're safe, I can get parts for cheap, and there's always someone around (he's retired) that I can ask questions. I don't have to worry too much about the detail either... And he collects volvo parts as a hobby. I'm looking at late 80s/early 90s models. I could throw a pioneer system in and be fine with it. Just something to drive and burn some nugs in, you know. I'm tired of getting reamed by slick import dealers on newer cars...
Aren't you insured? If you are, your uninsured motorist coverage should pay for the repairs. Although, if the car was in as bad of shape before the accident as you said it was, it might be totaled.
I dont know about volvos but my parents bought a 1968 chevy impala so I can have a car when Im 16. I did some work on the car over the summer (tune-up, brakes, transmission adjustment, oil change, ect). The car runs amazingly well 0-60 in 7sec 200hp 300lb torque and gets 12mpg. Rather than a crapy volvo get something older with a little more muscle.
