I got a mandolin for christmas!! im so happy :D!!! i love it, its a carlo robelli, its acoustic/electric. the only problems is that when i got it, the person who strung it did the worst job. it looked like they just threw strings on it and didnt care at all haha. but i get a free garentee or something where i can take it in and they restring it and clean it for me so thats good. and the other problem is that i cant tune it. i have a tuner for mandolins, but its one of those by ear things, and the noise it makes sounds nothing like the strings. and its really annoying. does anyone know of a tuner that is like a guitar tuner with the needle ya know and the lights where it turns green if its in tune and red if its flat/sharp type thing? cuz that would help a lot. ~peace~

    a mandolin is tuned G D A E. a guitar is tuned E A D G B E.
if i remember correctly, i think the D's are the same.

Well if you mean will it work to tune the mando even if its a "guitar" tuner yes a guitar tuner will work, just tune it to the proper mando notes
