yeah, a very basic question, but...

can somebody explain acid to me? i've never done it, don't particularily have any plans to, and i don't know many people who do it. there's lots in here about finding acid and what the trips are like, but how do you take it, and how safe is it, compared to 'natural' drugs like weed and shrooms, which i do often?
i'd appreciate any basic info if you've got time.

i think acid might be safer then shrooms

because its almost impossibile to overdose

just lets you see the world through a different prespective for a short time

Mmm, I'd say more like it allows you to experience intense visuals for approximately 8-12 hours; hardly "seeing things in a new perspective for a short time."

 

Well, it was first discovered/created/whatever in 1938 by Albert Hoffman; an organic chemist. Check Erowid.org for more info.

It might just be that it isn't very commone where you live; but I would suggest considering trying it at least once.

The only way to describe them is to experience them really. The short term effects are usually increased sensitivity to sound, visions of patterns, aural hallucinations, objects brighten, objects breathe, etc. etc.

It is most often taken orally, but it can be injected, delivered through the eye, or delivered through the rectum. I think it can also be insuffilted. It can not be smoked as the heat destroys the LSD crystals, and they don't stay in your body (particularly your spine) to be dislodged years later; this was used as myths to scare people off from it as it was said that a flashback could be had until the crystals dislodged.

It's just as safe, if not safer, than weed and shrooms. There has only been 1 noted overdose on LSD, and it was an injected amount that was pure and was approximately 3 mg (a standard dose is 100 ug (micro grams)).

It's really not that it's impossible to over dose, because you can over dose(note:Tusko). Realistically, if you had enough LSD to over dose, chances are you would'nt be able to get it into your body fast enough. By the time you got any dangerous amount of lsd in you, you would'nt even be in your right mind, probably not even in the same room.

 

Did I mention that the guy who overdosed thought it was speed?

 

Well, technically, if you were to take 1 g of pure, crystalline LSD (about $10,000 worth on the street) and inject it directly into your spinal column, there's a %100 chance that you're not going to walk away.

Actually, Byrd, I believe the article I'd read was that 3 guys were at a friends' house while he was in the shower, and found 3 g of white powder on his coffee table...thinking it was cocaine, they split it and insufflated the entire pile in one go; though it turned out to be LSD.

 

Thats true if you totally disregard it's affects on you're thought patterns. You can't say that all acid does is give you hallucinations and has no affect on you're minds thought processes. I would say it puts you in an altered state of mind which would be the same as percieving things from a different perspective. A new perspective if you had never done acid before...

Physical side-effects, short term: off-beat heart patterns, breathing in similarity to drowning, tracings of patterns whenever in view of the sky, social and behavioral pattern notification via ego, thus the ability to view these patterns not only from molecular and microbiological structures to universal, and in some cases, logical behavior of elements versus "probable physics" versus actual physics...well, if you can read all that AND understand it, go ahead and take a dip.

However, if seeing roses grow from wallpaper, followed by travelling wormholes via snakeskin straight-jackets, to human virii, total Alien-nation, and phase-shifting isn't your thing...please, stick to your recreational drugs.

 

Oh, and if it's any conselation, I've heard that taking LSD interrectally intensifies the effects and shortens the onset durration as the surfaces inside the rectum are thinner than any other place of the body.

Oh, and eat some LSD, I understood at least some of that...

 

ive never done acid myself, but my friend did and he told me that he barely remembers anything and that he woke up in a dumpster and cant remember how he got there. guess he'll never know.

 

I think your friend may be a little confused. That wasn't acid. You can barely even go to sleep 12 hours after dosing so he would have remembered a bit more, don't ya think?
Acid doesn't have adverse effects on short term memory. In my experience I can remember the events of a trip better than a nite spent with no trip. It really emhances my memory.

 

All the sudden it doesnt sound so fun...

Come now, you don't even percieve these things when your in the midst of it all. I've heard of people that have done over 25,000 hits of LSD in their life and don't even have flashbacks much less declining health.

No problem; LSD is my favourite drug, but I don't often get the opportunity to try it. I could go and ask around right now, but I don't have a job, thus no money.

The first (and only time, thus far) it was $5 and I got 2 hits, so it was a fairly good deal. I had a guy who said he could talk to someone and get me a 10 row for like $30; which is really good if it was quality stuff. The guy he talked to never got back to him, and then I got busted for possession and haven't talked to the one guy since. I shall soon though; I've been anxious for tripping again, although I could just take 600-900 mg of Dextremothorphan. Hell, I could probably go and check if a local headshop sells salvia extract...

 

Dont ever try anything chemical. Never. They're carefully balanced and manufactured in the labs to make people addicted and BUY MORE. Dont ever say "I would never step one farther than acid" cuz nobody starts doing chemical shit like that. Nobdy volunteers, they slip into it.

I've talked to a guy that told me "Believe me man, I've been doing this shit (acid) for 20 years and I've never been addicted, not once!". It is as bitter as funny it sounds at first.
So it both causes brain damage and makes u an addict. People stuck in shit cant take it being alone, so they drag others to the same chemical shit swamp.
