GAH! I feel SO Dumb

Ok...I love to smoke and do like everyday but I an unable to roll a joint or blunt to save my life!..I did last night and it wasnt loose as fuck like normal but it still ended up all flat and shitty! I love my bong but Im sick of having my dad or skye roll shit for me...I just dont get what Im doing so wrong!


so please-for the love of fucking god-give me some tips people!!!Pwetty Please!!!

you cant tell but the end is completely flat and it burned too fast..just rrgh so frustrated!

 

Ya i used to always have the same problem, one thing that i always tell people and that helps me is that dont be delicate , be firm really pack it takes time to get good just keep workin at it

 

A simple method that a lot of people use is to roll the joint up as best you can, then fold a dollar bill around it and roll it back and forth between the dollar bill to tighten it up and even it out. Not sure if that's a good description, but it's the best words I could think of.

 

Wanna know how to roll the tightest joint/blunt 100X better than your dad or "skye"? All you do is get a pencil(magic marker if its a blunt) and roll one of those into the paper and seal it on 1 side. So now you have the "shell" of the joint, so all you do it grind your weed up nice and get like a small funnel or something and put it over the open side of the joint. The toss the weed down the funnel making it all go into the joint, and just keep doing it and packing it down till you have filled it to the top. Then seal the end and smoke it

 

Yeah that's kinda like the method I use to roll cone shaped spliffs. I roll up a peice of notebook paper in the shape of a cone and tape it like that. Then I roll the rolling paper around it and lick it. Then I take the now cone-shaped rolling paper off of the notebook paper and stuff it with weed and discard the notebook paper.

or you can try rolling a joint with only a little weed. when it comes out all loose and shit, add more grind and pack it down with a paperclip

You oculd always get a rolling machine thingy. They don't cost that much, and they'r really fucking easy, and they work great.

 

lol you got that from www.smokingwithstyle.com huh? i tried that, came out loose as your grandmas clit, but i dont roll anymore on the count of it being too loose. so i just stick to pipes. but how my friend does it, its realy weird, if he rolls it and its too loose he will put it between his hands (like your clapping, or what mr. berns does when he goes "eeexilent") and, well, i dont know how to describe it, ummm, like you know how you rub your hands together when there cold? well yea he does that and does it pretty good too, i tryed that and just tore the bitch all up

Yeah that's what I was talking about with the dollar bill. It works without the dollar bill, but not as even.

 

Well I tried the pencil thing..just rolled it around it;licked it;rolled the edge;packed it;smoked it....and it worked pretty well...the end I rolled was kind of fucked up (still too scared ill tear it) but im sure with preactice ill get better...

Oh and I have seen people use those for cigs but never weed which I just realized was probobly because all of them rolls really good joints, so yea I feel dumb and am gonna get one of those now....

I didn't learn how to roll a joint until I had been smoking for a year or two. Now, almost 7 years later, I still have a few problems rolling. Either too tight or too loose. Never perfect.

 

"The Ultimate Rolling Manual," Ch. 2, p. 34:

PURPLEGEL'S MODIFIED EURO-STYLE JOINT:

i recommend rolling european style joints (minus the tobacco) with the paper held inside-out (sticky-side towards you when you go in for the lick). that way, when you have rolled up the herb and are ready to make the seal, the licking is done through the paper and soaks into the adhesive through the back. The remaining paper can then be burned off in a dazzling display of finese and color; thus, you're only smoking one layer (ie. revolution) of paper. additionally, you should have rolled it into a mostly 'cone-shape' figure so that the flamed end is significantly wider than the roach. Speaking of the roach-end of your 'joint-to-be,' you should include what's known to the Dutch as a "tippie" (a small piece of thick paper rolled up and inserted lenghwise into the joint's base to act as a "filter" or "grip" for the jay) , which eliminates roach clips and burned fingers forever. to finish the beauty off, simply grasp the remaining paper on the smoking-end and twist two or three times in order to seal the crown and create a "hair-do" for the joint--you could make a tail or fan, for example (unfortunately, this artistic addition will be the first thing to burn once it's sparking time). the product is now ready for consumption--enjoy.

p.s. if you summon your best talent, you should be able to stand the joint on it's base on a table or bar counter without it falling over (see Fig. 1). A+

lol I can roll a smoke one handed while walking. I don't know how I do it I just do it. However weed is a two handed thing. The biggest mistake people make is not paying attention to the way they lay the weed (or anything else) out in the fold. that shit has got to be of even denisity all the way down the paper. At that point it's just a matter of rolling it through your thumbs and licking the gum. If that joint isn't even at the first twist it's fucked, start over. The more you roll it through your thumbs the tighter it's going to get. Rolling machines roll the joint twice, once to shape the fill and once to tighten your paper and you should focus on hand rolling the same way. Also no amount of tapping, poking, or rolling is going to fix the joint after it's sealed. May as well tear it open and start again.

 

Buy a pack of pipe tobacco from a smoke shop, and roll untill you get good.

 

why can't you practice with weed?

 

I beg to differ. A lot of times I'll roll a decent cone but its a bit loose. I pack down the ganj gently with a pencil or whatever is handy on the end that I plan to light and put a bit more pot in if I feel like it. If the mouth end is loose too, or not all the way to the end of the paper, I'll usually poke pack that gently and stick a little cardboard roach in there. These joints usually end up a bit shorter than others, but they have a nice width to them and burn pretty nice.

Thats just one method to do it, there really are a lot.

My advice is to practice, practice, PRACTICE! Thats really the only way to get good at anything. Definitely try a few different methods to rolling, get a feel for what you like and just keep at it.

When you put the pot on the paper, organize it as to how you want it to look rolled. Want a cone? Put a lot of pot at one end and taper it down. Want a straight J? Distribute the herb evenly down the paper. Leave a little extra room at the ends, as once you start rolling the pot has a tendency to spread out.

Rolling itself is a 2 step process. First, roll the pot back and forth in the paper. As you do this, it will start to stick together loosly in the shape you want. You want the pot to stick together like this before you actually roll and stick the paper. That way the J will be more firm and if you keep it smooth along the sides, it will burn evenly.

The second part is probably the trickiest bit. You need to roll it a bit so that the non glue end is shorter than the glue end. This is the tricky part now, fold/roll the glue end over and the non-glue end back with it. Lick and seal.

Lastly you can make any final changes to it such as packing it a bit more or gently twisting it to maybe pull out any loose bits. Twist the end that you plan to light shut and twist the mouth end a bit so that it holds the pot in but isn't shut.

One common mistake is to make it TOO tight, which I have done quite a few times. So tight that the end gets all blocked up and you can't draw anything through. Using a cardboard roach usually helps, whether you roll the roach in with the rest or put it in at the end, both work, its up to personal prefference.

Like I said, just practice.
