okay, so i barely just started having sex about almost a week ago...and i think i may be allergic to like latex condoms or something. i mean the first few days of me having sex with a condom nothing happened..but around the 3rd day, not that long after sex, i started getting red itchy bumps all over my body..looked like hives. it was so uncomfortable! so i went to sleep that night and the next morning it was gone. then i had sex again that day and about maybe an hour later it happened again. i went swimming in the cold pool for a long time and it went away. ha, then i had sex again that day and like an hour later when i was out with my sister i started to break out again! and then yesterday it didnt really happen much after sex, but later that night before i went to sleep itchy red bumps were just on my hands and a bit on my stomach and back of my legs. now they are gone, but im worried. i read about latex allergy and it said symptons could be rash/hives, shortness of breath, coughing. and i do have those. but then again i read it could also allergy to nonoxynol-9, which is from that spermicide stuff and the condoms we used has that.so im not gona have sex today and see if i still break out.

so i was thinking if i was allergic, i could take birth control pills instead. u dont have to use condoms if u take the pills right? how effective is that? i dont like condoms anyways but yes...any help would be good because im worried!

Yeah, that sounds like an allergic reaction to latex... Pills are only good for birth control, not for protecting against stds though..

polyurethene (spellign wrong i know) condoms are an option

both of you get tested first, and then you could go to the pill/patch/ring instead. But, both of you should get tested. Yeah, I know, you weren't with anyone before hand but it's still better safe than sorry.

I'd first try condoms that aren't lubricated with spermicide that contains nonoxynol 9. That's some nasty stuff. Gave me a few yeast infections, blech.

You definitely could be allergic to latex, but I bet you're best bet would be to go to a doctor to see what's up. They can correctly diagnose you. And definitely stay away from nonoxynol 9. The guy I lost my virginity to decided to try condoms with that in the lubricant and I had an allergic reaction every time we had sex (yet the ass decided to finish using all of them because "condoms cost too much to just waste them"). No fun at all. Hold off on sex until you can see a doctor who can also provide you with alternative methods of birth control and other types of condoms. The pill is definitely not all it's cracked up to be (weight gain, incredible mood swings, nasty stomach aches for the first month or so), but the effects are different for different people.
