Quit following you? PAH! I posted in this thread before you did. It only makes sense that I would check back for responses; only to find your negative and rather offensive posts. I mentioned how some stores discriminated when others had a policy; describing which situation was what for the topic creater. YOU came in and attempted to nullify my claims of discrimination which was instantly incorrect as there is no health code to prevent people from walking around barefoot inside businesses. Obviously, the threat of disease isn't as horendous as you made it out to be, so I responded the way I did.

I am arguing with you in this particular thread because I happen to be a barefooter and know at least some of the risks/myths about it. I've not yet heard of someone catching some kind of sickness from walking around barefoot. Unless someone is careless enough to not watch where they are going and happen to step on a rusty nail or a needle, they aren't going to be stricken with some kind of ailment. Bare feet are healthy feet; your less likely to carry sicknesses when your bare foot as you usually work up dirt providing a barrier from the ground. It's even less likely that you are going to transfer germs if you take a minute to wash your feet before going into your own home because you wash that dirt off and all the stuff that may have accumilated on it off.

And in closing, try to be a little more open minded towards subjects such as this; it gets rather annoying when you take on the 'Holier than thou.' attitude.

Isn't it hookworms you get through your feet (or some other kind of worm, at least)? I'm a barefooter, also, so I'm not saying you are completely wrong, but you really shouldn't talk out of your ass. People can get certain things from walking barefoot (probably not so often in the first world, but definitely prevalent in other places).

I remeber learning that in freshman biology. I don't remeber what it was called. What I do remeber is that it comes from a snail, it leaves the snail, the climbs to the top of a blade of grass, then enters through your feet :). Look it up.

Also, the other poster made a great post about lawsuits. And people getting hurt. Maybe you wouldn't sue a store because you stepped on some broken glass, but you would still get hurt. I know I know, you would watch where you were going right? Yes well, accidents happen all the time. You could be talking to someone walking down the isle not looking at your feet and bam, step on something.

I don't wear shoes in my house.

Going around barefoot is perfectly fine.there is nothing wrong with it. all the germs on the ground get on shoes anyway and if you step in something your more likly to know. wearing shoes just makes your feet hot and sweaty will only leave more germs then before..i only wear shoes when i take gym.cause if i fail that boy my parents would have a fit hehe..if i cant go somewear barefoot.i have the very thin sandles i wear about.even hiking.cause its just more natural
    Peace

    So:

    Shoes: 2
    Barefeet: 2

Oh, and for some people, it's better for their posture and tones muscles that are for support that are never used when wearing shoes; but I suppose that the hazards along the way of going barefoot just about make it an even balance... I'll continue to go barefoot though, because I find it to be most comfortable.

I constantly walk around bare foot, no one notices, but my father when I dirty up his white carpet..hahahahhahaha. My feet have come to point that they are like a leather sole, hard and durable. I was not born with shoes on and I will not die with them on ethier.Me and my best friend think its foolish to wear shoes when you don't need to. Socks.....don't even start on them, they are usless at points ( unless its winter duh)

    HaHaHAHA! Hobbit feet!!!

Seriously, I thought it was ringworm you pick up through your feet.

And, it's funny, I'm a nudist, but I normally walk around with something on my feet.

Yeah, some people think it is a threat to public health. There's probably ways of spreading foot fungus that way or something. In restaurants, I think they only care because people eat there and other customers might care if you're barefoot. Well, hows about I'm offended when people wear SHOES?

Now you know I love you Real American, but you I'm going to have to disagree with you on this one. I mean, There are lots of germs on the ground, I agree. But most people wash their feet once a day/every other day. How often do people actualy wash their shoes? So I think it should be mandatory to walk around barefoot, because it would be cleaner. :)

I love being barefoot, too. If I'm not going barefooted, then I'm wearing sandals (unless I'm at work cuz they make me wear shoes there :() I walked around downtown San Antonio barefooted to take a toke on the riverwalk. And NO I WAS NOT on a school-sponsored trip ;). I guess that was kind of dumb... I'm glad I didn't step on a needle......

i think as long as people aren't walking into places with their feet gushing blood it's not that big fo a deal. i walk around barefoot and bring sandals with me just in case, but still. bein barefoot is alot more comfortable and there are germs everywhere on anything so if you're gonna be scared to walk around barefoot you migth as well just shoot yourself because there's no point in being alive if you're going to be afraid of everything.
ok that was harsh, i'm sorry. haha but you get what i'm saying.
