The Levellers have a new single called "Last Man Alive". With the current rise in popularity of US bands like Flogging Molly,Dropkick Murphys and Gogol Bordello the Levellers are perhaps more relevent now than they have been since the 90's.

Levellers "Last Man Alive" (Eagle Records)

Yes, they have a history and they have opinions and opinions are divided
on the quality of both, but this single just f**king rocks. Sorry? Make
it clearer? It just f**king rocks, a storming (the barricades if you
must) rocker whipped along with nagging, 80-ish keyboards, booming bass
n drum combo and it's on the album and you should buy that, but the flip
here, "When Love Runs Out Of Time" isn't on the album and it's a wryly
ragged agi-prop pub acoustic strummer, so you'll need to buy this single
    n all, isn't socialism wonderful? (www.levellers.co.uk)

The Levellers - 'Last Man Alive'
    (Eagle Records)

So The Levellers continue to persevere long after we've all thrown away those shapeless hemp striped shirts with wooden buttons and got a bit sick of all the reedy violins and Mark Chadwick's rather pathetically-voiced politicising. Still, The Levellers do seem to me in the midst of some kind of peculiar renaissance at the moment, and on the evidence of 'Last Man Alive', it seems to result from burying the fiddle and overtly political lyrics in favour of dense guitars and a surprising nod to The Edge's guitar. Last man alive? This lot'd survive global nuclear war.
