Attacks Claimed By E.L.F., A.L.F.​

SPRINGFIELD, Ore. -- Six people have been arrested in connection with ecoterrorism attacks in Oregon and Washington claimed by the Earth Liberation Front and Animal Liberation Front, the U.S. Attorney's Office in Seattle announced Thursday.

The arrests were made Wednesday in New York, Virginia, Oregon and Arizona. Each defendant has been indicted in either Oregon or Washington.



Twenty-eight-year-old Stanislas Gregory Meyerhoff was arrested in Charlottesville, Va., and 31-year-old Daniel Gerard McGowan was arrested in New York City. They are accused in the 2001 fires at the Superior Lumber Company in Glendale and the Jefferson Poplar Farm in Clatskanie. If convicted, they could be sentenced to life in prison.



Thirty-six-year-old Kevin M. Tubbs (pictured, left) was arrested in Springfield, Ore., and 40-year-old William C. Rodgers was arrested in Prescott, Ariz. They were indicted for the 1998 fire at the Animal and Plant and Health Inspection facility at Olympia. They face up to 20 years in prison.



Twenty-eight-year-old Sarah Kendall Harvey was arrested in Flagstaff, Ariz., on the indictment for the 1998 arson at U.S. Forest Industries in Medford, Ore. If convicted, she faces up to 20 years in prison. Twenty-eight-year-old Chelsea Dawn Gerlach of Portland (pictured, right) was arrested on the indictment for the 1999 destruction of the BPA transmission tower near Bend, Ore. If convicted, she faces up to 25 years in prison.
