I'm probally moving in with my dad, he lives in Manhattan, Greenwich village to be specific. I've been living in the suburbs my entire life so this is goning to be a huge change for me. Can anyone give me insight on what its like to live in New York?
I've never been there, but it seems like a place where you should always carry a weapon and never make eye contact. Good luck, though!
NYC can be a pretty cool place to live if you hang out with the right people and go to the right places. For the most part anything you are into you can find right in the heart of the city...
nashville is like 10x in rate per capita murder assault robery than nyc ....manhatten is an awesome and totaly safe place grenich village and east vill are good places to live and its southern cities like atlanta that are dangerous and ya shouldnt talk or look at folks ....nyc isnt like that ....you can say things to strangers and grt great interactions....dude pm me some time when your there and maby i can suggest some realy cool stuff to see like bronx botanical and museo del barrio or...abc norio anarchist bookstore ..ad infinitum
greenwich village isnt that....bad. atleast you wont be living in the projects, talk about living in hell. i wouldnt be too worried about getting mugged or anything like that, in 5 years in NYC i seen only one mugging. but just dont nark on anyone you see doing illegal crimes, and youll be fine. basically just mind your own business, and dont go around flashing large amounts of money at anyone, and youll have nothin to worry about
Damn you, lucky bastard. I have'nt been to nyc, but I've been to chicago, cityplace, jacksonville alot. The city kicks ass man. It's really busy and driving on the highway and on international drive in chicago is fucking insane. If the highway leading into nyc is half as bad as the one leading into chicago, you'd be out of your mind to drive on it. It makes the indy 500 look like a damn go-kart race. I don't know about crime, but I think it varies alot. In chicago, some parts will be beautiful downtown, real clean, and 6 blocks down it's like buildings built in the 50's and 60's, kinda slum-like. It'll blow your mind how big the buildings are too. Like when you see a building and think, "thats like a mile away" it'll really be like 5 miles. That's how it is in chicago, anyways. You don't notice it too much though, once your in the city.
aww I'm soo jealous i want to move to nyc soo bad! you should have fun just don't look like a tourist. and hey chicago aint that bad backtothelab
i havnt been there, but my boyfriend used to go like 2ce a year. you're moving to a good place, well, an exciting place. i've heard there's alot to do. you'll most likeyly be accepted. but beware! people there are loud and yell alot. not trying to be rude, but they just somtimes are.
I live in Jersey (5 min away from the tunnels, from Manhattan) And let me tell you....NYC is a world of its own! Fer
