Antony and the Johnsons

So, anyone like 'em? They won the Mercury award (Best Europe music award by far) this year, but there was a bit of controversy because the lead singer was born in England, but lived in the states since childhood. Either way, they're great. It's a bit out there, and chamber-pop-ish, but still magically delicious.

Any other fans out there?

 

i like him alot. i've only heard his new album cause i heard devendra banhart did a song with him, and i began to like the whole thing after awhile. "hope there is someone" though is one hell of a song...its one of my favorite songs of the year, maybe even of this decade!

 

Aww, Hope There's Someone is a beautiful song. Hitler in my Heart is really good too

 

Yeah, I like Antony, and yeah Hope There's Someone is such a beautiful song.

I also really like Fistful of Love - it's the song that turned me on to Antony and i still love it.

And Like A Bird now is such a great album, from Antony's 'Jeff-Buckley-and-Nina-Simone-illicit-love-child' voice to the guest vocalists - Devendra, Lou Reed etc...
