I've read everything of his I could find, including stuff he wrote under pen names. The only one I didn't like was his recent "The Taking" which dived a little far into Christianity.

Watchers was by far his best, though the movie was horrible.

Darkfall was one of my favorites.. I seriously loved them all, I own so many I lost count, but I do agree with "the taking".. I didn't like it either, but I bought it before I read it so I own it anyways... Watchers was awsome too. I can't remember the name of the one where the doctor was placing weird disorders in peoples heads while under hypnosis.. and then got them to kill themselves.. I wish I could remember, I loved that one, it's a real good mind fuck.

I really liked the one where the nano-chips were put into the water supply and the smart people melded with their computers and the dumb people degenerated into werewolves and giant insectoids.

    That was cool.

it's called false memory, i have it. i used to read tons and tons of koontz' stuff.. i read a childrens' book of his (still can't find the book anywhere since i read it in 5th grade or so, but since then i've gone after his adult books. some of them are really scary and just weird... dragon tears i remember being good (two cops and a guy with "supernatural" powers) watchers was my favorite.. i loved the dog. it's been so long though... wow, i've forgotten most of the titles now though i think i'd really enjoy rereading some of them. hideaway was the first one i read back in 5th grade where it totally tripped me out that i could get all that suspense and horror from a book. oh yeah, there was another one... had to do with carnies. a mom and her two children and she used to be married to a freaky carnie... i remember that one scaring me... anyway, i'm gonna stop now, my memory isn't so good with these :/i'll have to read some more stuff, but i do remember i stopped because i started finding his stuff kinda boring after a while... i used to think i just read all his great stuff right away and then his good or okay stuff just wasn't enough for me, ya know? but maybe i just need to get back into it. keep the titles coming, i'd love to start reading crazy stuff again

Strange Highways is a good book of Koontz short stories. My favorite short stories are "Hard Shell" and the "Black Pumpkin".

    You get what you give.

i used to Love dean koontz... i tracked down all the stuff written under his pen names... even went way out of my way to find and buy his "how to write best selling fiction".... but the closer i got to his newer stuff, the more it kind of left a bad taste in my mouth...
i won't go into my criticisms of him... this doesn't seem like the thread for that... but there is no arguing how successful and hard working that guy is.... in his "how to write best selling fiction" he said that early on in his career he was frequently working 80 hours a week doing his writing... wow... he certainly treats writing like a business, and i'm sure he's been hansomly rewarded for that

They list 686 books. Of course, some of them are the same book in different formats but it gives enough of a description of each one that you can tell if it is the one you were thinking about

Well, let's see. Two of my favorites are Watchers(which you've read), and Twilight eyes.
Umm, Midnight is a good one, as well as Lightning.
Whispers, Strangers, Intensity, Dark Rivers Of The Heart, Fear Nothing, and Sole Survivor.

Koontz used several pseudonyms when establishing his career. Three of the main names he used were Leigh Nichols, Brian Coffey, K.R. Dwyer, and Owen West.

I am a big Koontz fan I also enjoy Richard Laymon who is a horror/suspense writer that Koontz sort of discovered he is now passed away but I strongly suspect that Koontz finsihed writing his last book. I see similarities in the writing.

I love the Prodigal Son Series. I'm eagerly anticipating the next volume!

I've read every book by him save for the newest release. Since my son was born, I haven't been reading much (I cannot tolerate interruptions while reading!), but it is there, waiting on me. I would say that by and far, my favorite book by him is From the Corner of His Eye. It enchanted me.

I'm currently reading "Phantoms", I have a question though about this book. I picked it up used and on the cover it says that it's now a motion picture event. Did I miss something or has this movie not yet come out? I also liked that book with Dr. Ahraman called "False Memory". Wasn't too fond of "Through the Corner of his Eye" kind of boring I thought but I do find that he's a great author.
