http://www.peta2.com/STUFF/s-accvegan.asp It's a list of "accidentally" vegan food...not necessarily healthy..but wow I never realised that some of these were vegan. Interesting. And maybe helpful to some of you that "don't have any vegetarian/vegan food to eat"
ahahah i found that list awhile ago and printed it up and carry it around with me. i'm pretty good at ingredent reading but somethings i'm not sure and if it's on the list it's in my mouth.. lol
AHAHAH yes i'ma big fatty at 115 pounds.. LMAO.. irongoth.. you make me laugh.. you should really research the vegetarian/vegan issues.. topics before typing stuff and making yourself look a fool.. i'm always laughing at you (not with you) when you post here.. just so you know
I know all about vegans and their food neuroses and holier than thou attitudes. And truth be told they either look like Michael Stipe before 35, or are just chubby. You could be 115lb and still flabby.
I'm a carb addict/vegitarian and I have little/no flab on my body...its not so much about what you eat, but how you excersise
ya there is a lot of vegan food out there, definatley. unfortunatley some of it is almost as evil as supporting factory farms, though i'd say its a whole lot purer since its not out right cruel and wrong in so many ways. but things like pepsi for example, while vegan, are almost as evil of corporations in my book, almost being the key word. high fructose corn syrup+hydrogenated oils+enriched grains, are all things humans should NOT be eating or even making imo. the only real reason they are made is for money, they dont even add that much taste to food. the people who do make them tend to be apart of that group that pays the government to be allowed to profit off of such things. we need to start valuing health and spirit more than profit and effiiciency.... and not supporting those who don't and continue to corrupt our world. ethical eating stretches furthur than mere vegan eating, but i think veganism is a HUUUUGE step in the right direction.
oh, and so you've never seen a fat meat eater? All the people in Mcdonald's are emaciated... hmmm Most of my vegan friends lost about 30 pounds when they went vegan. I lost a few, but not a lot because I took up cooking simultaneously. But those things aside, veganism isn't about weight loss... it's about the ANIMALS. Hypothetically, if being vegan made me gain weight, I would still do it. I'm not selfish or vain like some people here.
from the things you have said in the past.. you know NOTHING.. you just assume.. you believe what you are told and don't bother to research for yourself. i have no eating disorder. it's taken me about 13 years to get where i am. you think i'm sick because i don't eat meat? do some reseach. humans aren't meant to eat as much as most people do or any meat at all. i was sick 24/7 when i did eat meat. assume what you will.. but you're only making a fool of yourself. if you'd like to know what i know.. just ask me. i'm more than willing to have a polite discussion with you on the topic
I am in no way flabby or overweight. I've eaten lots of carbs my whole life. The percentage of overweight meat eaters is MUCH greater than veggies. This is a very small list of vegan foods...it's just things that people wouldnt normally think of as being vegan. No one said anything "holier than thou", don't assume we all are because some are.
Actually, the only reason carbs make you fat is-theyre digested FIRST(smaller mollecules or some scientific stuff). This means, for a meat eater, that while all the carbs are being digested, the fats in all their meat are NOT, and they build up. So its actually the meat making them fat. But vegan carb munchers actually have the advantage, as they just have all round speedy digestion. Xx
No, you have known a FEW vegans who apparently had "food neuroses" and "holier than thou attitudes"... Im not denying that experiences with people are going to colour your attitudes a little...of course they are. But, there are BILLIONS of people in this world. What happened with just 1, 2, 5 or 10 of them does NOT justify shoving all people with certain viewpoints or lifestyles into one group and labelling that group, surely? Xx
* Items listed may contain trace amounts of animal-derived ingredients. While PETA supports a strict adherence to veganism, we put the task of vigorously reducing animal suffering ahead of personal purity. Thought this was interesting
yeah i saw that tiny disclaimer also, but i agree with it. I'm suprised PETA would say that, though. Most of those are vegan, but w/ exeptions not listed. example - I know some swedish fish are vegan, just not the red ones. The red ones contain Red #40, which isnt vegan. As long as you are living in modern society, and aren't entirely self sufficient, it is impossible to be 100% vegan. Many materials have a small percentage of animal-derived stuff, but I think the less you use, the better
