Friends, I wanted to start a thread here for exchange of ideas among those that simply LOVE and feel really transformed in a totally healthy and positive way by the Great Mystery that Salvia Is (reveals, opens up, .....which ever word works for you). Notice: if this plant hallucinogen has been less than easy for you to "get to know" or relax into positive realtionship with, then may this be a place, if you want, to come and refreshen your perspectives and get inspired to reapproach (when/if you feel moved) in perhaps a new and different way. I am a long (LONG) time student/disciple/devotee.... of psilocybin and Aya/DMT. Nothing (NOTHING) prepared me for Salvia. I have the deepest intuition that the capacity to experience this amazing transformation ("initiation", more like for me) as wholly positive egoic disillusion into (vegitable gnosis?, local hyperspace bypass cafe, .....?) has to do with a number of fairly understandable (but perhaps less immed manifestable) dynamics going on in each of us. Like: a) how ready you are to deeply surrender b) how experienced you are with the kind of psycho-emotional "allowing" of merger with (or infusion by?) the chemistry of another life form coursing through your body/brain chemistry and pouring itself into your human sensorium (a la the "Other" that is, for many of us, "within" the mushroom tremendum). c) of course: setting: how empty your life is of pressing/distracting/concerning confilict as as to leave some "room" for the experience to exfoliate its true scale, message, vibe, vision, etc. (as opposed to be just a perturbation of and then mellow-drama infilled journey into/rehash of the stresses of "daily life"). d) of course: set: your own level/experience of life: who do you usually think you are?....are you used to even "walking life" appear very psychedelic or are psychedelics a huge departure in general and "normal" life (whatever the F__K that is ) is something that is really solid and (yawn) "normal"/comforting/"real" for you? ...etc. e) and the ever important: the quality of the person "doing" (which is to say mostly able to not do anything but be a compassionate witness, ready but never interfearing or adding to your journey, unless needed for your protection) the "sitting". All that is really going to make a huge impact in what you experience as "Salvia" or "the trip" and "you". Maximizing the optimum'ness of all that is just easy planning for some of the "trip prep" listed above and a question of personal self-understanding, egoic self-transcendence and major life evolution for others. This thread, its my hope, could be used to explore those more or just a place set a bit aside for those that feel, like me, that they even somehow "owe" the spiritual profundity of the experience a kind of tribute or thanks by just going-OFF about where/what/to whom/etc this Door open's them up and just how its adding value to their daily lives/baseline consciousness. I'll leave the overview of my invitation/call to ya'll at that. Then come right back and enter first response..... or "confession". Much much peace to all in your process. You have each got a front-row seat for the ride of (your) Life and it is an honor to hear how its going for you or, in any way, to help your ride to be as blissful as possible. *bows*
author's disclaimer: words, as you know, just don't/can't deliver where mind (memory, self, observer-observed vantage point, etc.) was handed over as an entry fee merely to get IN to "the show", but then again having been shown so much, just letting silence tell our stories leaves precious little said. Fun backgroud to first Salvia trip: met a great guy on deoxy a few years ago and the cosmic chit-chat, extraction tek banter and general, but humorus, vibe of the connection was such that keeping it going through the years was a pleasure. About a half year ago he took me up on an inviation to participate in an impossibly grandious dream to help co-create a completly new kind of peace-org and so the banter turned to practical matters and psychedelia, like so much the endless ambient soundtrack that it is in my life, faded from focus. Projects of deeply personal personal (esp utopian ones) passion such as they are (one minute all "here kitty, kitty, kitty....nice kitty-cat" and then next "OH FUCK!" you've got a tiger by the tail) the topic of tripping didn't resurface much until finally sitting in his place just outside of Amsterdam we feel throught the thin ice of "business" and right into an amusing Salvia story of his. Though easy enough to isolate, after laughing our asses off over the story of his amusing (terrifying) adventure, what hade made for such a hair-raising trip (wrong dose, wrong place, wrong sitter, wrong preconceptions, etc.), what surprised me was the level of intensity that he was describing. Act I: Prelude to a humbling Grace... Being a die-hard, and long time, fan, "student" and eventually friend of Terence and his view on things (Terrence had personally sent me, i kid you not, my first spores for a 5th grade science fair school project my over-eager preadolescent mind had cooked-up back in,..get your calculators out..., '75) i had wrongly written off Salvia long ago, for lack of "critical acclaim". Sitting there just having recovered from the humorus retelling, I made the lucky error of then asking my brother "well then, maybe its time for someone to head back in there and let those 'insects from planet bizzzzarrrr' know just who's boss?!". Half knowing, i am sure, that just a couple tokes of his 10x would most certainly knock back my cocky vabrado a well deserved notch or two, my buddy hopped up and in a matter of mere seconds had both the bong and Sal laid before me with nothing but a kinda a "oh yeah?" cheshire cat grin on his now beaming mischevious face. We all know these moments, right guys?, we've been mouthing off and maybe even believing the logic of our own confident rap and then, all of a sudden we find outselves there: at the edge. The edge of..... wow, so many edges eh? Such a deep metephor. Sure: the actual edges i remember well are firmiliar to so many of us: when all the rapelling classes on the way FAILED to prepare you for that 450 granite wall you're now just starting to hang your trembling white ass over, when that Cessna 182 door first flew open and 13,500' and all the puffed-up bravado of the previous nights beer-boasting now as shrunken as your.... (you know), first time you felt that sickening blissful nervousness of confessing to your girl how much you love her and actually know you mean it, 60 wet grams of your first homegrown cubensis trembing with you in your trembling hands,..... and on and on and on.. yes? So, we're clear on where I was at when i was being eagerly allowed to put my bong technique where, just minutes earlier, my belly-laughter was at. Act II: ...... To come!........next post if someone proves i'm not just talking to myself or howling at the MOOOOOOON! (ps: i am NOT going to spell check this ramble or protect you from wildly unorthodox syntax.... reader beware, tripper enjoy).
Just spent an 45 min's writing the full Act II only to have it disapear in a forced-restart. Pff. Alas, She keeps Her secrets Her's. ....for now.
