Anyone ever stayed there before ? 6 of us have been booked in the same room, with 6 single beds obviously... but it has now come to light that the room may be tiny and the beds have been crammed in !? We stayed there in April but had rooms of 2, which was fine. So has anyone ever stayed in this 'bigger' room and can tell me what its like ? cheers
I haven't stayed there, but I would advise people that if they have more than 2 in a group to book into a better hotel if you just want one room. The cheapest places are usually the worst, and in Amsterdam that can be real bad. So if you're splitting the cost among several people, why not upgrade and get a decent place? Even the cheap rooms in Amersterdam are not so cheap. You can move up one star and it won't be that much more, but you'll get a much better place! My two cents.
We spend very little time in the hotel so we're not too fussed about luxury, as long as theres a bed, shower, toilet and a bit of room thats all we worry about. I take your point about paying that bit extra tho as there is 6 of us going, I might even look into an apartment next time we go. Any idea how much an apartment that sleeps 6 would set us back, for 5 days or so ?

flying pig is cool......i like the communal kitched but i must point out that it appears that the flying pig has swapped names for there locations! Your link is to the flying pig uptown which apparently is the downtown location renamed. the flying pig that is 10 minutes from central station is the uptown location which apparently is now being called downtown. confusing huh LOL
i stayed at the flying pig near vondel park it was a cool place to stay..... it had a realy nice bar down stairs...... im not a real big drinker (i got smashes on 2 pints) im more of the tokin' type (i dident go for the alchol) its a nice place to chill,smoke a fat joint,and meet some realy cool people......during my stay there,the max nights u could stay was 6..... there is also the STAYOKAY hostel across the park from the pig......there rooms are nice and clean.... i must say i deffently enjoyed the breakfast that was prepare at the stayokay,to the one that was made available at the pig both places had free breakfast 4 the guests........ the stayokay breakfast was the best.......... the max nights u can stay there is 7.............. both places did not cost that much......... i think the prices are: 135 euro for 6 nights at the pig 119 euro for 7 nights at the stayokay i could be wrong on the exact price quote....... only problem i had with the stayokay was that u was not allowed to smoke pot in the building and 4 me that was a big problem(but i got around that problem ) if u realy wanna go ..... than ur gonna go.............. i would sugest that go prepared,do u know that i could not find one store in amsterdam that sold kool-aid? and i dig a nice cold glass of kool-aid when im puffin' on a fat joint of super silver haze................. its kinda refreshing so if ya dig kool-aid.... ya gotta bring ur own..... ine learned my lesson............. not ...hahahahaa have fun........... b safe........and.... may the force be with u dig it..................
you should look into renting a houseboat-we put 6 people on the Ideaal 2 back in june, and no hotel could have topped the experience!! It cost around 1300 dollars for the 7 nights, fireplace, hottub, internet, cable tv, easy access to city center(the boat is up in the eastern docklands). look into it!
I have stayed in a room of 4 at Winston. 2 normal singles and one bunk bed. It was fine with plenty of room. I would hazard a guess that there will me more than one bunk bed for you. Location is great.
Well after all that we turned up at the winston and they had 3 rooms on 2 sorted for us anyway... Paid a bit extra bit didnt mind that.
Glad it turned out okay for you. As for StayOKAY Vondelpark I find it a nice place, 24 hour curfew, smoking lounge, nice breakfast, internet and comfortable sofas.
