i have lots of family there.
and i visit there loads
(morehead city/newport area)
but im from onslow county
(about an hour away)
and ur right! there is NOTHING
to do in carteret county!! haha

 

Lol, well i'm from the part of the county that I'm sure you've never even heard of
You know why, because it doesn't make sense
The "region" i live in is labeled "downeast"
Why doesn't it make sense?
Because it's at the NORTH east end of the county...
and yes, nothing to do
Except for when the seafood festival comes around
I think that's the biggest thing

I went last summer

One interesting thing to do
My friend's parents have created their own holiday down in Gloucester (a community in 'downeast')
Pig Day, the sunday after columbus day weekend
it's awesome, because they are the coolest parents alive
I've never even been to one, well, i made one for about 2 hours
If I remember correctly it's semi-famous
at least, to some people

Asheville is great. If you're visiting though, I'd wait till spring because right now the weekly drum circles are not being held and there's just not as much stuff going on. Still, any time of year you can't beat Asheville. There's no place like home...
