i heard that snow is good for dogs,it can well clean the dog furs, even sterilize the dog ,so we'd better let dogs play outside when it snows.i wonder is that true?

i dont know that snow is good for dogs but its not so great for their paws. if their paws arent cleaned well after they come inside (from the snow) then they will eventually dry out and begin to crack. snow is only frozen water so surely it has a cleansing effect to some degree but i dont see how sterilization is possible from frozen water.......

Yeah I have never heard that, but my german shepherd loves it. I have to bribe her with cookies to come inside.

The sterilizing thig doesn't make sense unless ice cubes would do the same.
I am sure dogs love the snow, I wouldn't know, it doesn't snow here. PLEASE remember though, dogs can freeze just like us. Recently, some moron woman let puppies freeze to death, it was awful. Remember they are just a bit furry

not sure if i read this right ................i live in canada and in the winter the weather drops to about -40C (-40F) at times ........like humans ,dogs become innured to cold temperatures ....i work outside in -30C but sure as hell wouldn't expect someone from southern california to come help me outside during those extreme colds .............like dogs .....my dog (short haired border collie ) loves it outside in the cold but he is used to it ...as far as sterilizing their fur ......forget it .....and one question .....who would want to do that ......keep a dog in too a sterile environment and you get the same thing as keeping a human in too sterile an environment .......one sick puppy ....no immunity build-up

I've never heard anything like that. But a lot of dogs have fun playing in the snow, so you should let her try it. My cats used to like to play in the snow.
