You mean you DON'T even recognize the second pix?

It was one of many used to convict Lyndie England of abusing prisoners. So I guess if it's good enough for the US military to convict one of it's own soldiers, it sure as hell should convince you.

That prisoner is dead in that photo btw, and I believe no one has been convicted of that one yet, because he was murdered by contractors.

But then again, you don't believe anything we say anyway, cause you're just a troll, who is now banned.

You want to be banned too?

If you notice, it's a Getty image, which means it came from a reliable source (probably the US military or an embedded reporter).

And everyone uses photoshop to touch up, crop & resize images before posting on the web. I don't see anything that looks like it was edited in the image, and I'm pretty much an expert on photo editing.

Backing up a troll is trolling. And this is off topic.

From now on anyone attempting to derail threads in this forum will be banned.

It's a neo con tactic, and we won't stand for it on this website anymore.

Please stay on freerepublic.com where you all belong.

in your opinion, everyone who disagrees with you is a troll. and when you don't like what a person who disagrees with you has to say, you ban them.
man, this must be your way of somehow feeling the control and power over people you want to have which you are lacking in real life.

so.. now is my time for going off topic :)
skip, do you have a pet bunny? if so, can I pet your bunny? I want to pet your bunny. *pets*
do you like noodles? do you have any preference? for example, I like rice noodles. their delicious and healthy, and taste great with tofu and delicious sauce.
how do you feel about arm bands in a place of business? too casual? not casual enough?
have you ever eaten pudding with your fingers only?
what do you do about unsightly ass hair?
how many cavities do you have?
do cell phones really cause brain cancer?
are there an infinite number of realities? if so, does one alternate reality feature a kind and loving skip who frolics nekkidly in stranger's homes and grope their kittens?

    thats all for now

Skip, I do not want to get banned, but I have one thing to say:
AND PLEASE ACTUALLY READ THIS BEFORE (or after) YOU BAN ME
people that agree that the war and the Bush "regime" are evil are going against you in this thread, you got to think there must be somehting wrong
you are going agianst your own beliefs by posting this propoganda and opresssing those who disagree, please just look at what you are doign for a minute and relaize how big of a fuckin' hypocrite you are being
your intentions are good I know, you wnat to support your cause, but lowering yourself to the enemy (American imperialism) is not the way

also, if your definition of trolling is going off topic, I dare you to try to ban everyone that goes off topic in every thread
PLUS how is opposing a view not on topic in anyway?

Half your pictures show the actions of a few... put in prison now by those lovely imperialists at work..

The others well.. i wonder who put those soldiers in those coffins and i wonder who put the little girl on the stretcher .. Any answers.. not already in your Microsoft notepad ready to cut and paste.. US imperialists or something along those usual lines.

I think i must be a cynic also..

Well this is the problem Matthew, these are NOT just the actions of a few. Up till now it has been US gov't policy (Bush's policy) to use torture, despite it being against US & International law. This is now been admitted.

The guy on ice is a very well documented case of torture taken to the extreme - murder.

Hey I realize there will always be civilian casualties in wartime. The fact that the US is still at war in Iraq & Afghanistan means that civilians are being killed almost daily, either directly or indirectly as a result of the US occupation of those countries. And as long as we stay, more will die.

Unfortunately without the IMAGES of the dead men, women and children reaching the American public, we can all pretend that we're not hurting anyone in Iraq except the "bad guys", who are just Iraqi citizens wanting the American occupation to end.

This illusion of good intent on the part of the US is supported by the media. Witholding images of death, and injury and body bags is a great disservice. Cause until America realizes the true cost of it's actions, it will continue to "stay the course", which sounds so nice and easy, but when it means the death of innocent women & children, how can you sleep at night?

BTW, thanks Matthew for staying on topic, discussing the issues raised by this thread. It's really not hard to do.

    When was this admitted ?.

I don't have enough info on that particular picture.. i wont just add some glib answer.

The insurgents are neither on your side or mine.. why make justifications for them ?.

    http://www.seacoastonline.com/news/12092005/world/77060.htm

Yeah just wishing the end of the American occupation.. i don't deny 'we' have killed innocent civillians.. You seem to ignore every Car bomb.. or just put it down to ''Iraqi citizens wanting the American occupation to end'' and then justify them doing so with ''civilians are being killed almost daily, either directly or indirectly as a result of the US occupation of those countries. And as long as we stay, more will die''
Would not a quicker solution be.. VOTE then ask us to leave.. The only reason we are staying is because they KILL there fellow countrymen.. purely because they wish for another religous grouping to take control and resume where Saddam left off..

Pictures are just that pictures.. no explanation of who did this to or what the circumstance are.. I don't hoist the blame one way .. just a bit of a aknowledgement [would be nice] the vast majority of pictures plastered on this forum are unsubstaniated only with the posters bias.

    I repeat:

''vast majority of pictures plastered on this forum are unsubstaniated only with the posters bias.''

How can i sleep at night ?.. Well if i agreed with you , i would never sleep.

    I do my best

Sorry matt, wrong. We are staying because it was never envisioned to withdraw in the grand PNAC scheme now underway. THis has been about regional hegemony and control from the very start and will necessitate a permanent US presence in Iraq unless driven out through attrition and more widespread civic awareness and outcry on the domestic front.

That Iraq is now home to the largest contingent of CIA operatives of any foreign base on the planet only goes to further underpin that intention.

I truly wonder how you will rationalise the betrayal when and if the house of cards that is the WoT and all subsequent acts justified under that new Cold War-styled paradigm finally collapses to reveal to those like yourself whom it was perpetrating the real "terrorism".

May take a generation or two, but i'll give anything to see your face when the light finally dawns.

I find it incredibly ironic that the US condemns Syria for it's occupation and influence over Lebanon, but it's EXACTLY the same situation with the US in Iraq.

The US actually holds a LOT more control over Iraqi politics, as the whole system has been setup by the US. As LickHerlish says, the CIA is there, just as Syria's security service is ever present in Lebanon.

The only difference is that now Syria has withdrawn most of it's troops from Lebanon, while the US continues to occupy Iraq against the wishes of the vast majority of Iraqi citizens.

Glad to know the US enforces it's hypocritical foreign policy equally around the world.

    Bush just did.

Why else is he seeking an exemption for the CIA for the prior period before the new anti-torture law takes effect?

Why else did the US just remove all their prisoners from Europe?

Why else did the US send all those prisoners to Morocco, where torture is a art form?

Why else did the US seek to redefine what torture is?

What do you call waterboarding, which has been admittedly been used by the US?

I could go on and on, but you can do your own research.

What do you call this? And you know it was authorized & encouraged by higher ups, who never got prosecuted.
