some do.. some live in a hammock, some just sleep on the ground, some in vans.. some in your local hospital, some in the white house..depending on your personal beliefs...

personally I believe everything is made of light, therefor everything and everyone is a rainbow...

keep smiling and seeking until you find brother...
you too have a belly button
    =)

rainbows are everywhere & everyone, living in luxery apartments in big cities to living in the tops of trees
but no matter where we "live" or hoeww long we've lived there, home is where the heart is..& thats pretty much with family, in tents & tipis in the wilderness

& yes its really cool :)

our bus has only been in bus village twice...in AL '93 & WY'94...and that was the old bus

Daisy Mae (in sig pic) always had special parking close to the kitchen. She can now be found nearly smack dap in the middle of Texas at the Hippiestead with her buddies, Bubbles & the Knight Bus (at this rate the hippiestead is gonna wind up looking like bus village!) :)

Most 'rainbows" don't camp out in the wilderness in the winter, but there may be some folks near you in So. Cal. at Saline Valley hot spring which is pretty remote, or "hiking" and camping on the Pacific Crest Trail near Deep Creek hot spring. I don't think camping in an RV/vehicle/tent at Niland, or Yuma, or Quartzite is all that wilderness-like.

Aaah...I dunno I didn't have any problems at all with the police down there. We were just a couple of kids with backpacks. We weren't seeking out weed or coke. Just travellin. The police didn't come to the gathering. Vera Cruz is cool, its known for all the shamnas and withches and stuff that live there. Brujas. Seems like you are pretty fluent in Spanish, which is cool. I'm not. I can order food or a room, but can't converse. Once when I was doin a fire show in Oaxaca the cops came and we thought they were gonna shut us down but they were just like, "Que paso" "De donde ares?" They were really nice. I've heard all sorts of stories about people havin all sorts of troubles with police in Mexico and the states and Canada, fortunately I've always been nice the cops and gotten niceness right back. I don't know if I'd want to drive around in Vera Cruz or anywhere else in Mexcio though.

I think yurts cost alot more than teepees and don't travel as well. But they are still a sacred circular beautiful space.

Greetings to all I from Russia. I am very glad, that on the Internet is
Such resource as this!! Also I wish to tell, that the HIPPIE will be always,
Babylon or system (to whom somehow to name the existing order in the world) will not fall yet. Unfortunately I while badly speak English
on it I use the translator. I hope, that sometime people will think again also all will be in another way. And what to destroy system it is necessary to go to authority, will pretend to the person of system, to hold a supervising post, and then to destroy it..
Really now in the USA there is nobody from former hippies at authority or in
The big business which can help?? At us in Russia such is not present,
And in general to us it is very far up to such democracy as in the USA and the Europe.
Recently have forbidden to drink beer in public places, and still our president, the government and parliament steal money and ëîáèðóþò
Interests of richmen. In our army scoff at soldiers and feed
Their slops. It is a pity that at us people are not able to struggle for the rights,
As óâ the USA in 60-70 years.... Thanks that you is!!!
And in occasion of drugs if you consider, that it is bad,
Forget all that spoke you about them, this all washing of brains and
Propagation of the government.. Badly only heroin, cocaine..
Marihuana and mushrooms here 2 gifts of the nature for Hippie....
Write I shall answer all!! (never communicated with foreigners on the Internet) greenpeace33@mail.ru (Pawel 20 years)
P.S. Huge greetings to all Rastaman.. The peace and love all!!!

I tried living in a 20 ft. tipi one winter in NY. To HELL with that!!!! It was SO cold, no matter what we did. Below zero, 4 feet of snow against the side, big fire inside, rugs and cushions on the floor. We nearly froze to death. Maybe a much smaller tipi, one made of HIDES and not canvas, would have been better. We bailed to our VW bus, lived in ski suits and wool socks, and spent about 3 weeks trying to stay warm in there with an old kerosene heater. Finally gave that up and climbed under a pile of wool blankets and spent the rest of the time reading... The dogs took over the tipi like a giant dog house, and we even had 3 goats living in the cab of an old junk pickup truck...
Finally couldn't take it any more and spent the remainder of the winter camping at our friends apartment on the floor, and hitchiking out to the tipi to take care of the animals every day.

Now, 30 years later, we live in the woods in a tent during the summer, within walking distance of the house, so we get the best of both worlds. We be SPOILED hippies!
