Ok something weird happened last night...out of absolutely nowhere, I got this cough I couldn't stop. It was a shallow, aching cough and I couldn't catch my breath. I took my puffer (I'm asthmatic) even though it didn't seem like an asthma attack - air was coming out fine, but I was having trouble getting it in. I was feeling shakey and weird for a while, and then eventually went to bed. But everytime I move I start the coughing again, and it's really hurting in my chest. The thing is, my sinuses, as of this morning, are also completely clogged up.... so I'm feeling gross all over. Does anyone know what could have happened? Cos honestly, after being asthmatic for nearly 20 years, I really don't think that's what happened last night. Still this morning, every time I move the coughing starts, and it's bad... any info would be appreciated. Thanks!

i've had bronchitis too many times to count... it sucks. i'm surprised you've never had it even though you have asthma... you must have it well under control, and that's really good! i have exercise-induced asthma and i've gotten bronchitis probably twice a year every year since i was 4? it's gotten better recently, but i still get it. got it over the summer.. will probably get it this winter... (hopefully not)

stock up on cough drops and tissues and drink lots of fluids and keep your inhaler handy. don't be surprised if you're coughing up lots and lots of phlegm too (it's good to have something nearby to spit it into when you're sleeping so you're not always having to get up to go the bathroom.)

    another common "bronchi"
lots of spice to break up and move that phlegm, mucinex if you need (we asthmatics can't fart around with chest infections & you do NOT want it up in your ears)

All the best in having that clear up. I've had Bronchitis twice before and it's not much fun. Best tip I have, rest and drink warm fluids. Pepermint and camomlie teas.

I was going to say, just before I saw that you had posted again, that it sounds like bronchitis.

I get bronchitis almost every year.

Anyway, bronchitis isn't a whole lot of fun, but you'll do just fine. If your doctor gave you an antibiotic it should clear up real soon. I don't know much about natural remedies for things like that, but bronchitis usually isn't too serious.

Thanks for the good wishes folks :) It cleared up for a while, turned into the sinus infection from HELL (which is fine because i get sinus infections like 8 times a year anyway) and then that went away, and the bronchitis came back. :( I didn't do the anti-biotic thing, after a couple more days it wasn't bad anymore and now it's basically gone. Let's hope that doesn't return anymore!

Skyyy, sometimes, with enough cryptonite, bad things happen to us superheros :(
