Weed and alcohol are two completely different substances with entirely different effects. Alcohol certainly impairs your driving abilities and people should not drive while intoxicated. Notice I said "intoxicated"; I don't consider weed to be an intoxicant, but alcohol is another story and should never be compared to weed.

I only posted the cop/turd comment because it's one of my favorite sayings.
The post about the cops in my area being bitches wasn't a generalization, it's a fact about most of the cops in my area and I stand by it.

You are not aware of your surrounding. You only know what you have to do to not get pulled over. You spend all your time concentrating on that. Trust me I know.

 

Nah, THAT is ignorant. I have complete control over myself when I'm stoned and would never drive while stoned if I thought for a second that it endangered lives. I am ALWAYS aware of my surroundings when I'm high. You say "trust me I know", which idicates that YOU may have problems driving stoned. I have stated numerous times that it is different for everyone. I know plenty of people who can't drive as well when they are stoned, but I have been told numerous times by others that I actually drive a little better and less erratic when I'm stoned. It IS case sensitive, and to think otherwise is completely ignorant.

well then let me say this- you can drive with your kid stoned... and when you get in an accident whether it be your fault at not you can go to jail and lose your kid for endangering your child... and it will be your fault for driving under the influence

 

Well I guess it's safe to say that we all feel differently on the subjects covered in this thread and nobody is going to sway. So there is no point in continuing.

 

Why the fuck are we bringing kids into this now? The issue at hand is about how cannabis affects a persons ability to drive, and how alcohol affects their ability.

Alcohol is a mind numbing drug. It slows brain activity in the hippocampus region of the brain, which is the area that contols judgement. This is what makes drinking and driving so dangerous. This is why drunk drivers speed, and fly through stop signs. Not to mention the profound effects alcohol has on basic motor coordination. Which explains the swerving, delayed reaction times, etc. Alcohol impairs driving much more than cannabis, and this is widely known to anyone who knows their ass from a hole in the ground when it comes to drugs.

Cannabis is a mind expanding drug. Brain activity is increased while stoned, not reduced. A persons judgement is not affected, and motor coordination is affected slightly at best. When stoned, a person is aware of their "intoxication" if you will (Cannabis is non toxic, so intoxication isnt accurate), which makes them compensate by focusing more on the simple task of driving.

and i do not feel sorry for anyone who is stupid enough to do drugs in their vehicle, and get caught...thats their own dumb fault imo...
