baa hm, maybe we could monkeywrench haarp to send out a huge electromagnetic pulse that would fry all the cars. then we would have to make a leap in another direction. ps, sheep will always be sheep, unless they're lemmings...
Unfortunately, there is no way to stop consumers from being sheep. At least none that I can think of. It seems like no matter what happens people will not make a stand. Perhaps when these high gas prices drive our economy into a recession then maybe people will act. Watch over the next few months things are going to get bad. I am sure you have already seen increases in goods and services. I think the oil companies are purposefully inflating their prices to force us into allowing them to build more refineries and drill in more places. We do not need either of these things to keep the price of oil down.
you could contaminate your local gas station's holding tank with water, sugar, automatic transmission fluid...ext and tell your friends to do the same.
Tell people they can buy as much gas as they want! Just don’t buy from certain gas stations. Particularly boycott Exxon/ Mobil and Hess stations! Tell them they can buy as much gas as they want but only from Texaco, Shell/Sunnoco and gulf stations (which seems to have the cheapest gas anyway). You can boycott without giving up convenience. Boycotting ½ the industry will drive the prices down and break up this cartel we are currently stuck with. If you want to put extra pressure on the big oil companies, don’t buy any gas on weekends. Also my new campaign is no Toy Shell Trucks for Christmas!
They are not sheep they are people. They are thinking individuals who make their own choices and follow those choices. If you think of them as sheep, your arrogance will poison your attempt to convice them to change their behaviour. Respecting people and speaking to what motivates them is the best way to communicate with them and to convince them to change their behaviour. ** begin rant ** Activists on the left, particularly the ecological left, have a habit of treating people as ignorant sheep and themselves as being the wise shepards. They seek to replace the current world ("run by evil corporations") with one where they are in charge ("run in harmony with nature") (with the activists getting to define "harmony" and "nature.") The rational that is presented is that the world would be better with them in charge, rather than the corporations. We do not need a change in slavemasters. We need people to regard each others with respect. Included in that is respecting the fact that people who disagree with us might be right. And giving others the option to disagree with us and do what they want to, for their own reasons. ** end rant ** Thank you.
Gas prices are going back up again. We have to ban together now more than ever and teach big oil who is really in charge! Again I am not saying don’t buy any gas. Just don’t buy gas from certain companies. Buy only from Shell/Sunnoco, gulf, Texaco (and other) stations. Don’t buy any gas from Hess or Exxon/Mobil stations! Also don’t buy any gas on the weekends (or what ever days you have off work). Finally I say no to Hess trucks for Christmas. I understand that buying Hess trucks for the holiday is traditional for a lot of people and that they are collectors items but skip it just this year.
UK-TEESIDE $5.64 GERMANY FRANKFURT $5.29 /VENEZUELA CARACAS $0.14 Gasoline prices in the United States, which have recently hit record highs, are actually much lower than in many countries. A few countries, like Venezuela have prices that are far lower. The main driver of price disparities between countries is government policy, according to AirInc, a company that tracks the cost of living in various places around the world. Many European nations tax gasoline heavily, with taxes making up as much as 75 percent of the cost of a gallon of gasoline, said a spokesperson for AirInc. In Venezuela, on the other hand, oil is produced by a government-owned company and local gasoline prices are kept low as a benefit to the nation's citizens, he said. All prices updated May, 2004.
gas prices? bicycle, bicycle, bicycle! easy for me to say, living in florida, but i did the same all my life in the mountains of new york! keeps the 'winter butt' away, too!
The reason gas prices in Europe are so high is in part because (from what I understand) they have to import almost all their oil. But the major reason is because of the high taxes Europeans have to pay at the pump. Those taxes are used to pay for things like universal health care and other progressive social programs that we in the US do not have. To Compare the US to Europe is like comparing apples to oranges. There is no justification for the high gas prices here in the US other than the greed of the big oil companies!
Sorry about that. I sometimes forget that this is an international message board. It is just a saying we have in the US. Basically it just means you can’t compare 2 things and draw conclusions about the situation. Um guess I did not really explain that well. I am very tired right now but I hope you get the point.
