im not sure if somebody has all ready done this but what the hell. why dosent the whole hipforums group start a pention to legalize marijuana, but take it farther than that. we should make a pention and get people in our town to sign it as well as people on the internet. then we should advertise on every marijuna forum we can find. we could get millions then we could send it in and show those bastards what we want. is it worth it? what could it hurt. -rydns
this my plan we create as many as petitons as possible on the internet and at home and put them all under the same name. then we could get them all together somehow and send them in its worht a shot even if we dont make a difference well make a dent
ahhaha good luck, i dont think a petitons made by some people on some forum will do much of anything, not that im saying dont give it a shot but realy i dont tihnk it will do much you need backing
well, if you're too lazy to use correct spelling and grammar on a formalized petition, then you shouldn't even bother with starting one.
you should definetly have a more formalized petition, but it dun matter how you spell as long as you get your message out on the forum.
Great energy! But I think we need to look at the legal structure before we act. I'm not an expert, but I know there is federal law and state law. Now it would be easiest to get this passed in a few states first. Also, many of us here are in different states. I'm in Delaware. I want to start a petition and geat it on a ballot in my state. http://www.NORML.org is the head organization to do this I believe. If you go there you can then go to the local chapter web site for your state if it has one. If it doesn't, START ONE. I would suggest trying to contact Colorado and Alaska or find out what technigues they used to get their law changed and follow it. What states are you all from? Great Idea (in a way)!
In 1975, Alaska's Supreme Court found that the privacy provisions in Alaska's constitution protect the personal possession and use of marijuana in the home. The court ruling doesn't stop federal police from making an arrest and charging an Alaskan with possession in their own home. However, it does legally bind state police. Its been back and forth for several years now. Denver, Colorado was somewhat different. The people behind it advertised that it was a safe alternitive to alcohol, and would reduce crime/violence. This raised a great deal of controversy, and pissed off a bunch of people on both sides of the legalization arguement, but the bill still passed. It is now legal, according to Denver law, to possess 1 ounce of marijuana. Its still a up-to-100$ fine on the state level, however, and the police will still be charging people.
If you don't take the time to check spelling and grammar, nobody will take it seriously. At least, not anyone that matters. With spelling and grammatical errors, the only "message" you are putting out is that stoners are too retarded to take seriously and you are adding to the evidence that weed makes you stupid and that it should remain illegal. If you REALLY want to do something like this you have to do research and take the time to make the petition and paperwork look as perfect and official as it possibly can. Otherwise, it won't help matters and could even set us back a few years.
Drop the whole internet-signature thing and you got a good idea. I like the though that people use the internet to co-ordinate a massive petitioning in the run-up to the 06 elections. If we could, say, get fifty or sixty individual propositions on the ballot and most of them passed it would send the right message...
yea im sorry about the spelling it was passed my bed time i was sleepy. but i am serious i want to start it legally and i want to do it seriously as serious can get and as i said before it might not make a difference but it might make a dent. im from sothern IN -rydns
I just found out that there is no referendum provision allowed in my state of Delaware. The only thing we can do here is to contact out legislators. Did you all check the laws of your state?
half the people on the weed forums are under 18 (or 21 in some states) and i think its illegal to start petition if your under 18(21) for marijuana. lol picture a little 14 year old kid going door to door asking people to sign a marijuana petition
Well, yeah, if you are fifteen you should't really be petitioning the government for redress of greivences... yadda yadda.
