    Bullets flying threw the air
    Bodies laying every where
Lots of screaming, lots of death
OH MY GOD! ALL THOSE PEOPLE
    JUST BURNED TO DEATH!!!
    MY GOD!!! OH...
    MY...
    GOD!!!!!!!!!

    People killing,
    Without hast
    Itchy fingers
    On loose triggers...

    "Good evening...
Tonight in Baghdad people are dying
From what’s bound to be one of the worst attacks by AlQuida
In the long bloody history of this war..."

    When is right
    Wrong?
    When is one life
    Worth more?
    What is the price
    We’re willing to pay?
    To free people
    Three thousand miles away?

"Now we go John in Baghdad. Have the bullets stopped yet John?"
"No they haven’t, the atmosphere is chaotic.
    One solder just got shot
The medics are looking at him...wait...
    My god...this solder just died....
He just died...right in front of me...."

    End filming
    Stop the tape
    Hold the presses
    This just in
    An announcement fro the president

    "My fellow Americans,
    We are at war,
    The terrorists must be stopped,
    No matter the cost,
No matter the price of life.
    We are citizens of humanity
And when one person takes it upon himself
    To hold others hostage,
It is our duty to help them
It is our duty as humans
    As members of this world..."

    Letters splattered in blood,
    Delivered to crying mothers
Delivered to children yet to be born

    Please Mr. President
    Let me come home.

    Dearest mother
I saw a nightmare come true
I saw the gates of hell
    Open and swallow me whole

    My dearest wife
    I'll be coming home soon...
Only another three months then I'll
    Be back

    We regret to inform you
That your husband is missing in action

    We regret to inform you
That your son died in action

    We regret to inform you
    That the sons and daughters
    Of liberty
    Will not be coming home

    White tombstones marking there graves
    Little reefs of wild flowers
Resting upon the tear soaked ground

    So many pinewood boxes
    Buried under the ground

More names to carve into the wall
    More rubbings to be done

    Polished marble
    Drenched in blood
    Tear stained letters
    At your feet.

    "Ladies and gentle men
    Please stand
    And join us
As we share a moment of silence...
    -End-

wow. that brought tears to my eyes. :*). My finance is being deployed to Baghdad in January. We're getting married in December. So it hit very close to home. Absolutely beautiful writing, your choice of words is impeccible and the passion you have screams all throughout. Great work. I love it.

Thanks to every one for reading my poem.
Where I work I answer phones all day long, and over the cours of working I have meet some very interesting people. One day I was talking to a solder who had just come back from Iraq. Over th course of the call I got the idea for this poem. again....thanx for the feedback
