Indeed....it's not a bad thing to eat a little shit now & then...

I'd rather hang with folks that have to work a hell job then folks that suck off parents or the government....I despise leaches...an earned paycheck is a paycheck...

    True true...some leaches do.

I'm saying that you're dealing with the no car fact and getting any job you can, even if you're not happy with it, so you can get a paycheck. Thats a good thing...

Leaving the house is overrated anyway...haha....@_@ i_i

I applied at McDonalds.. they didn't want me. So.. I got a job stripping. Did it for a month, made a ton of money, then quit. Went to University, and worked at a conveniance store pimping out Slurpees.

I understand feeling ashamed... been there. My parents are "upstanding members of society" and I worked at the 7-11. But, you gotta do what you gotta do.

I was the pizza delivery guy for about 6 months. Working for tips is a real joy. I di meet some interesting folks though...1 AM deliveries to fucked up people is always an experience...i.e. "Can we give you a bonghit for a tip? We don't have cash..."

Sure, I'm cool with that...heh heh

you know, you can always step up to management, own a franchise, etc... you're not stuck flipping burgers at minimum wage just because you work in fast food. and experience in ANY field is good. maybe you will learn to make a really MEAN hamburger and treat yourself to some good food? you gotta look at the positives. plus the ppl who do work there are generally young and teenagers have lots of problems so you can use your psychology degree too! see.. that's another good thing. i'm sure you'll get some free food too and money is ALWAYS good, especially if you need it. paying your own way should be more respectable than living off someone else's paycheck anyway and until you get that *better* job you just gotta do what you gotta do.

I've worked in 2 different McDonald's before and even delivered pizza for Domino's (I really liked the Domino's job) why would my fast food jobs be any worse then my nurse's aide jobs or subsitute teaching jobs?

Why should you care if we complained about a janitor job or ditch-digging job or any fast food job. They are all honest work & someone has to do them. As long as it pays your bills and gets you out of the house and makes a worthwhile contribution to society then your job is good enough for me.

ah shit interval i have a cousin who started at a fast food joint at 17 n now at 40 is still there,,, albeit he is general manager in a giant section of new york state n gets lots of perks n damned good pay,,,, but he has always loved his job even when it was just flippin burgers, he just kept lookin ahead instead of where he was at.... money is money who cares how ya earn it... hell sometimes i think goin back to a burger joint would be a hella lot more fulfilling than some the other jobs i have had thru the years.... least they dont expect too much from ya :)

don't feel bad, my wife worked at mcdonalds for years, and even made it up to management, until she got pissed at everyone and screamed at all the employees and walked out in the middle of a busy night. she told them to all go fuck themselves and the customers the same thing. I guess she just had enough.

in my opinion, ANY legal job is better than sitting on your ass and feeling sorry for yourself. pride that keeps you from supporting yourself is not pride, it's idiocy. don't feel bad, you've got a job.

Honey, McDonald's isn't really all that degrading. I mean, sure, it's far from a dream or permanent job, but you want to know what was awful? When I was 19, I was a maid. A maid! I had to wear a maid outfit and clean rich people's filthy mansions, toe nail clippings, actual splattered crap off of their toilet seats, I'm telling you, you'd think that people with that kind of "f"-off money would take more pride in their surroundings, but no, that was the maid's job! Luckily, I only did it for a total of two weeks. I couldn't take more than that. Not to be haughty but I knew I was above doing that, I felt like the lowest of the low slaving over rich people's mansions, and the pay was far from worth it. But I needed a job immediately, my mother was taking off out of state and leaving me for someone she met online.

My husband (then boyfriend) and I had decided to move in together, but at that time, he was just starting out at his job and wasn't making that great of a salary, wasn't sure if he would be able to properly support the two of us yet, and heck, it's not like we had any kids then so I didn't WANT to stay at home all day by myself. I mean, we lived in a two-bedroom townhouse at the time, not much to take care of.

Anyway, like I said, I did the maid thing for two weeks, quit, and ended up taking a job as a medical secretary and assistant at a family physician's office instead that paid well, and gave me a lot of invaluable experience in the medical field.

Don't feel bad interval. Many of us have had to do jobs that we weren't proud of, that we felt "above" or knew weren't right for us, but just as you said, it's only temporary. Keep yourself on the right track, and I'm sure that you will eventually get a job that's right for you. Chin up, it's not so bad. Just keep thinking positive, and keep telling yourself it's only for a short time, right? It will get better!
