as a long time santana fan (my personal fave), it is great to hear him still releasing music after nearly 40 years. i liked the collaboration style cd's he has been releasing over the past 5 years...really showcases his gift going from genre to genre. his new cd is another great addition to a long wonderful career. ~corvuspirit

I don't think it's that bad that he's releasing stuff with modern singers. I mean, would you rather hear more Santana, or more Hillary Duff?
santana is a great musician, always has been ..and its fantastic to seem him reach out with his music to people almost 40 years later! there's magic in the touch of his guitar ..the trick would be to listen to the notes bein played on his guitar, not michelle branch etc singin .. havin said that, there's magic in music regardless ..
i don`t like it but my parents like it, so I guess going with all these pop stars is a good move for adult contemperary, (i like his old stuff) these new songs really lose the latin flavor as well, i mean yeah he's still on guitar, but in a rap song (bo bice) mary j blige w/e, it doesn't sound as good
