Believe it or not there a flock of wild Quaker parrots that have been able to survive the harsh New England Winters for over 30 years, just to be killed by nightly crews, with police protection, who's sole purpose is to gas these wild birds... All this is paid for by Fedural and State Tax $$$!!! The crews are from the USDA. Sadly the plan has been backed by those bird loving people from the Audobon Society (can you say "pay-off)...I digress. Please at least look at the following petition...debate, research this topic and share with others!!! http://www.petitiononline.com/CTMonks/petition.html Thanks, Marya from Newton, Mass
Yeah..they should definately capture them. All creatures are here for one purpose or another, invasive or not. I don't think whiping them out is really up to us.
What is up with people in the New England area killing birds? I remember a while ago I tried to help someone stop the killing of geese in CT haha. I wrote someone up there.. for got who, i think like a mayor or someone in charge haha. But idk if it did nething. Ill be happy to sign the petition. But i just dont get why birds are so hated up there!!!
people! sign this petition to stop needless loss of life in the middle east!... oh wait, no one gives a shit about important things that would actually benefit humanity
anybody got a link to learn more? were are they from ? how did they get established? what if any damage are they causing?
Sweetie I'm sure if there were such a petition here then we'd all be more than happy to sign it. Lighten up man.
First off Zeke, the euthanization of Monk Parakeets has already been stopped to find a better solution. And who would be paying off the Audubon Society? Bird haters? That doesnt make any sense. http://www.house.gov/shays/news/2005/december/decparakeet.htm Also, they do have to be removed, their an invasive species which is bad for local agriculture, they are loud and problematic, and they build their nests near transforemers which has caused several fires. Their population is growing very rapidly, which would only intensify problems.
