The only Mobb Deep song I actually like is Quiet Storm, that shit is an amazing smoking song, a deep ass beat and good lyrics. The rest of their shit sucks, IMO. But that's me.

That's your opinion. There are good songs for every type of music. Fuck generalization.

The best mobb deep by far was Infamous. That's the shit I used to skate to when I was a kid.

I'm not huge into rap but if you want some good smoking songs, maybe some snoop dogg? He's got a pretty laid back style and is pretty funny too.

If you like Star Wars or anything remotely geekish, definitely listen to some MC Chris. Its not real or serious in any way, but its funny as all hell. if you go to his site (as posted www.mcchris.com) you can get the tracks to his first album, including Fette's Vette.

On the adult swim note, Danger Doom, a collaboration album between MF Doom and Danger Mouse is a pretty entertaining CD. Again, nothing too serious, but pretty laid back with a lot of Adult Swim jokes.

Speaking of Danger Mouse, if you like Jay Z, check out the Grey Album. Beatle's White Album remixed with Jay Z's Black album lyrics put over it. It annoys my mom a lot because she thinks its almost a bastardization of the White Album, but the more I listened to it the more I liked it. That and I think Danger Mouse released it for free, if you can find a copy to download.

Lastly, if you're not much of a rap fan or more of a fan of jazz and are turned off by most popular rap and beats, I suggest you look into an album by Herbaliser called "Blow Your Headphones" Its pretty tight. There are a lot of tracks that have a heavy jazz feel to them and all the beats are so smooth. The freestyling of What-What shows the evolution of the Beat Poets into the mordern world through hip-hop. This gets like, 4 1/2 out of 5 stars from me, and with a name like Herbaliser, how can you go wrong smoking and listening to them?
