Ahead lies period of defensive actions on part of America in Europe. Dark female American top diplomat will have to prove America’s innocence. That’ll be music to my ears! What Americans are doing here is barefaced impudence. I mean those fishy prisons for terror suspects and transporting of ‘ghost detainees’ by CIA via European airports. It’s by no chance Rice’s European tour includes countries hosting secretive CIA prisons, Rumania e.g. Is she going to smooth things on quiet? I read that in the heart of Kosovo near Pristina there is kind of second Guantanamo CIA enclave. US govt operates there a camp with the prison and landing strip to accommodate and interrogate terror suspects. I don’t doubt that they use it for other murky tricks inside Europe. Anyway the last drop for me was when Americans took to our German NGOs in former communist countries to advance their democracy. Our NGOs say in Byelorussia are treated as reliable partners by local authorities. We have our vested interests there. Unlike Americans we don’t export revolutions. We really help in sharing our parliamentary experience, in construction, in reforms and etc. But now Americans are actually buying off our NGO having some financial problems. I think Brussels should investigate into it too. Actually they are trying to squeeze us away from post-Soviet space. Do we really need to patch up our relations with America? Shouldn’t we better drift away for a while?
europe could kinda do with drifting away, but as it seems that the EU are moving towards a US model then i doubt it will happen, we will unfortuantely become a clone of the US, if the EU become a federal state in the future. peacex
oh and brussels are doing something about these CIA ghost prisons and flights, they are investigating, and any state found keeping a hidden torture prison, will be dealt with and be taken off the voting council i believe peacex
I wish heads would roll for this, but I'm not to hopeful. WAY to many people in this country support that kind of thing just because they want a "bad ass" country/government. Many people here truely believe that whatever the USA does is for the common good of Americans and the world. Its easier to trust our leaders, than to be a bit skeptical and dig into the news, and think about it.
