Well, I am looking for someone to teach me, help me grow, and explore the possibilities of life. Im not sure that I will find this person on here, but Ill give it a shot. I would like to find someone in my area, but thats not nessisary. Someone with experiance of life. I am young, and am not going to pretend that I know alot about life. I want someone to share with me their knowledge, and then allow me to make my descisions. If anyone you are willing to do this. Let me know, and we can talk a little more about it, and see if we have any chemistry. Namaste

come visit the old hippies, back to the Garden, flashbacks forum, Introduce yourself, the philosophy and religion forums, etc....there are plenty of young folk on this board who are wise beyond their years, and plenty of wise older folk too (I do not count myself as wise, I am still learning too). and a few of the personal forums have wise people too. and welcome, hope you find what you are looking for.
Well I'm certainly not going to mentor anyone, but I'll throw out some advice because I can't sleep. It's fine to look for companionship or love or whatever you're looking for, it's more then fine, it's what lifes all about. Don't expect to bump into anyone who has any mystical wisdom about the nature of life, love, or the world. Theres no body like that. Most of the people who claim otherwise are assholes, I could list a few dozen Dr. Phils, or Oprahs, Tony Robbins. Oprah really gets me when she talkes about promoting black welfare when she has more money than Sierra Leone 1.4 million people have GDP. Not that I'm blaming her anymore then any other billionaire, but shes the only billionaire I can think of that promotes herself as an altrusit. I'm getting off topic though, but my point is there is no one on earth who can teach you about life. Most gurus are intrested in getting people who are unsure of themselves to herd around them. It's an ego trip for someone like that. Nobody can teach you about life. Thats the point of living. The best you can hope for is to have people around you that love you enough to pick you up when you stumble. Real wisdom is being there for the people you care about when they need you. Everyone else is as confused as you are. Trust me. Take care Insearch.

I've thought about the answer to life before and what it truly holds,but I still havn't found a meaningful connection or purpose in the reg culture that im still apart of. I really used to look at life from the capitalist viewpoint,you know just get a good education get a good job and look for happiness in tangible objects but that viewpoint didn't sustain me for long.Within a couple months I found my ideals and life goals were changing so rapidly it was almost unreal at times.I feel i'll eventually have to choose between the steady way of life or the road less travelled which is the way of life most seekers eventualy come to choose. What bothers me most at the time is it seems there isn't that much of a counter culture movement present nowadays or us seekers arn't really dropping out and tuning in so to speak.I really wish there was some place we could sign up for a place in the movement but the truth is if us seekers don't bond together and get out there with our message by both reaching out to others and by actually living out our ideals even if we have to rapidly change and discard our comfortable way of living we might never see another revolution take hold. I guess the question really lies within.If you could get on board and have the chance to pursue the dream would you or would you choose to stay in your comfort zone?.I'm hoping we all will finally choose to pursue the dream and leave this old culture in the dust that seems to be getting more void of meaning each passing day.
