We are doing 4 days in each from next week onwards, taking 3 separate flights. I was just wondering if anyone had any info regarding the night train that travels from Amsto - Prague. What is the cost of it, how long does it take, how do you feel after travelling on it, is it quiet/comfortable, etc. We ended up just getting a flight to Prague from Amsterdam. I think it was around 50 pounds Sterling. We sort of figured it might tire us, and therefore spent that extra bit to avoid wasting some of our trip sleeping or summat. Is it worth traveelling this way ? What is the actual cost of it travelling midweek ? Thanks.
The trian goes to Frankfurt and then to Prauge. I almost missed my connection in Frankfurt due to a train vs. car crash. The Chezk train is circa 1955 and the sleeper had six bunks. try for a lower. It was not real comfortable. It's about $150.00 one way I had a Eurail pass as I went to Paris next. Much cheaper.
I have a question about all this too. First, Andy 79, I plan on flying to Prague first for a holiday with friends then hope to finish off in Amsterdam, then from Amsterdam back to the UK. I've done a little research but the the train journey planner from Prague to Amsterdam (or vice-versa) is coming back with an 11 hour trip with one stop/transfer in Berlin. This is a huge amount of time on a train which puts me off. My querie is, how much did you pay for a flight from Amsterdam to Prague, as I've checked this out too but the price is stupidly ridiculous, so much so that it's cheaper for me to fly back to UK and fly out again to Prague. Did you book your A'dam to Prague flight within the UK, if so how much did you pay. I've been quoted around £280 one way, it's so high because the agent said I was not booking it from the country of origin but from the UK, which does not make sense to me. Anyway, if you have any feedback I would be very grateful if you could let me know how you organised it or when you've booked it, etc. regards ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- While were on the subject of Prague, does anybody know the names of any infamous and best pubs where they serve real Absinthe.? I'm thinking most do but are there any that specialise, etc. cheers
BTW, this thread is an old one or has been pasted from elsewhere as it's a month old and the original poster has not been about for a while, so will probably get no reply. Anyway, hence the ''BUMP-UP''
It looks as if the company above do not schedule Amsterdam to Prague anymore from what I saw. cheers anyway, JS
as far a i know they are still operational but don't seem to have any flight until next year. i just found a return flight to prague leaving amsterdam in may for 134 EUR including taxes. Edit: the schedule runs from 26 march to 28 Oct 2006
Doh.! Yes indeed, I was checking for Feb 06 just to see what price came up. I checked for later in the year and they do schedule flights that time. I'm only flying one way so it will be cheaper still. cheers for the link, JS, my high street travel agent I saw looks like they had no idea what they were doing with the price they quoted me.
jasonspaceman I formally relinquish my opinion that you have not CONSTRUCTIVELY contributed to this board. You have been a keen deconstructional contributor to this point. You've done a nice job of "keeping it real" in most posts, but its nice to see you finally sharing some love brother! There are some really fine folks on this board and I assure you it will come back to you 10 fold! Good Show
You can also check out www.germanwings.com they fly from Cologne to Prague very cheap! Just an idea. It's about a 2 1/2 hour train ride to cologne.
