I eat no Meat, or chicken. I eat some Fish, but only for the omega 3 and other nutr. I am a Lacto-ovo vegetarian... BTW, You spelled vegetarian wrong
im still officially a veggie coz this is my first month of veganism and although i hope i will, i might not stick to it!
I guess I'm currently an omnivore although not happy about it. I was veggie for a few years and then started eating chicken and turkey when my daughter came home for a while. Then I was veggie again until I moved here. My husband eats meat and fish. We didn't eat red meat for years. But then when we were in adoption hell we started eating it when stressed. (I guess it was better than drinking.) Now I'm trying to stop eating it again. I get really sick for days after eating red meat. Also pork, makes me very ill. I eat it twice a year, Christmas Eve and Easter when my mother-in-law makes it. I want to go veggie again but my husband does most of the cooking at our house. For now I think I'm going to make a concerted effort to not eat red meat at all. Then I'll work on the turkey and chicken later. I wanted to raise our son as veggie. However his favorite food is meatloaf. Whenever I ask him what he wants to eat he yells, "Loaf". I come to this board to get the inspiration to go back to being veggie. So come on, keep inspiring me. Kathi
Just take each meal at a time. Excuse the pun, but it's very hard to just go "cold turkey" and cut out all meat at once. I gradually cut out red meat at first, and a few months later pork, etc. It was a gradual process for me, but I found that each day, I liked meat less and less so it got easier as opposed to harder.
i am currently a veggie who is going vegan soon. i am working on getting all the necessary info i need on vitamins/vegan health, etc. plus educating myself on all the animal ingredients.....seems they are neverending
BTW, you defined vegetarian wrong. NO meat, that includes fish and shellfish... geez no one ever says I'm veggie but I eat honeyed locust..... Pleas help end this confusion by either walking the talk or using correct terms. but congrats on being aware at 13. I was there long ago as a step-down veggie (omni stepping down to lacto)
Congrats to everyone who is vegan/vegetarian, or even just trying to eat less animals. Much love to you
In Vedic Hinduism vegetarianism was advocated shortly after the Laws of Manu were completed. In accordance with the advocacy of vegetarianism, I have become a pisco-vegetarian, that is I make exceptions for sea-food. Fish is a part of people's diets from Ireland to Japan, including the diet of the Gaud Saraswat Brahmins in North India, so I figure I am for the most part helping the cause. It is said that vegetarians save 84 animals a year, just on account of being vegetarian, so that applies to me minus organisms that dwell in the sea.
mostly vegan, though I slip and have some cheese or honey every now and then. oh and why? Well to quote Alicia Silverstone: I was an animal lover who ate animals and I struggled with that for a long time. To quote myself: besides from the animal cruelty and the health benefits of a vegetarian diet, there are very many environmental reasons as well. Besides, I can't stand the taste of meat anymore!
I'm a vegetarian and so is my mum. a lot of my friends ask me how i can do it...but i just tell them the same thing each time...i don;t want to put it here just in case it puts anyone off...it hasn;t yet...but i want to be on the safe side!
i am a vegetarian, i rarely have dairy, actually i rarely eat much apart from fruit. i am a veggie because i do think we have no rights over other living things and i dislike how the world centres around anthropocentrism.... also it is hugely affecting uor environment peacex
Vegetarian, trying to cut out as much dairy ad eggs as I can for the moment, aiming to be vegan one day. Went veggie 4 or 5 years ago, after that horrors of slaughterhouses were revealed to me.. Can't believe I lived in ignorance for so long. I'll never go back, that's for sure. I used to list steak as my favourite food, but now it just disgusts me.
