Depends on what you consider an ‘RC.’ First, people have had severe adverse events up to and including death on at least: AMT, 5-MeO-AMT, 2C-T-7, & 2C-T-21. A few of those were reported to ‘feel safe’ until people started turning up dead. They sure were considered research chemicals or ‘RCs’ as you would put it. One seems to think if death is not a sign of some degree of toxicity, one is not sure what is. The report could have been pure bullshit, you don’t know. And even if it is true how can anyone possibly claim in retrospect that they were not near death? Lastly even if it was a fairly physically benevolent outcome for them, biochemistries and metabolisms can and do vary… so much so that for some people they will instantly become mentally retarded should they accidentally drink a diet pop! Who is to say that you don’t have the research chemical equivalent of a PKU condition? One could only hope that the panoply of research chemicals have safety profiles even close to that of actual MDMA. Moral of the story? The risks really are truly unknown with most of the so-called research chemicals. What is known about some is that they can be potentially unforgiving. While some will likely turn out to be fairly safe, this general fact has little application to you as a unique person. Penicillin is a very safe agent, yet some people have severe anaphylactic reactions to it. The same story could be true about you and research chemical XY-Z Do some more research of the reading variety. Here are some good places to start: http://www.erowid.org/psychoactives/research_chems/research_chems.shtml http://forums.lycaeum.org/cgi-bin/ultimatebb.cgi?ubb=get_topic&f=3&t=001676 http://www.bluelight.ru/vb/showthread.php?t=130385 Most importantly remember that there is no such thing as a class of drugs called ‘research chemicals’ the only thing they necessarily have in common is a limited history of human use, beyond that they may really have quite little in common. I B P.S. One certainly has their own opinions about the relative risk/benefit profiles of various Research Chemicals, but unless you do the research yourself in total it is hard to have a good bullshit detector in this area. And even then that is no guarantee of safety.
I must admit, that I´ve also done some RCs on very high levels without complications. I´ve tried 2C-B at 120mgs (and friends of mine have even gone up to 350mgs) and MDMA far beyond 1 gram. But I did these experiments after lots of research and under medical supervision! Most of the deaths caused by RCs happened, because people weren´t cautious enough. Read the reports on Erowid and you´ll see, that all these people made really big mistakes! About 5 years ago, a good friend of mine died because of an overdose of MDMA, meth and caffeine (pure powder). He has been using RCs for years and always tried to achieve a maximum of safety on his trips. Two days before the fatal night, he told me on the phone that his scale was out of order and how angry he was about it, because he had planned some trip experiments for the next weekend and couldn´t get it fixed in time. We never found out, why he did his experiment anyway, without a sitter and without using a scale. But the result was his death!
I pretty sure Shulgins doses are real conservative cause I took +/- 25 mg and I just felt really relaxed and stoned (I also smoked) but only very minor halucinations. I think this compound becomes real interesting at the 40-50 mg range
2C-C is now being taking at higher doses 60, 80, 100mgs. There finding out that it becomes more pschedelic at this dose range. Cheers
One has heard similar reports. Again though the problem is that we have no idea where the LD50 point is… could be at several grams or at 100 milligrams… we just don’t know. Also, even if the relative safety of any agent is generally established, it may not tell you all that much about how safe it is for you in particular. A real life example: PEANUTS! For most people they could eat pounds and pounds of peanuts or peanut containing products with little risk of anything much worse than upset stomach. But for that one poor person, they merely got kissed by someone who had eaten peanuts hours before and that was the end of their life! Nowhere is it written that the same thing won’t happen to you for any given research chemical. While 2C-C appears to be one of the less (immediately) risky “research chemicals” out there, and its structure would seem to imply relative safety (it is similar to 2C-B which has had a much wider history of use); this is no guarantee that it is ‘safe’ for you to ingest. Please bear the above in mind should you choose to explore this compound. Also, you might want to find out what an EpiPen is and how you might acquire one just in case… I B
... deaths aren't the only bad thing that can happen when people do unknown amounts of RCs. If someone flips out and is taken to hospital (not an unlikely event, happens all the time, even with acid and shrooms) because of [insert drug or chemical of choice here], that just means local law enforcement is going to be alerted, which can have ripple effects on up the Chain of Big Brother... Come on, Tokey. Have a little consideration for the rest of us, willya? You're not the only one who wants to amuse himself in Samsara.
