I had to dye some more yarn today, which halted production on the "brainwash" bag. So, i started work on a pirate bag. Again, have only one panel finished, but eventually it will be a felted messenger bag!

Get some wool. Knit it. Stick it in the washing machine with some HOT water. Watch it get soapy and get mushed around by the aggitation. Take it out. Rinse it with cold water. Let it dry. Repeat.

    Basically... it "dreads" the wool.

It means to shrink it in a hot water wash. When it is felted you can barely even tell it was knitted. Once it is felted you can cut into it like fabric and it won't unravel. It makes your knitting nice & thick.
