The hollies are a real cool band.
With my little bro who is a fan too we used to joke about what happen if the hollies open in 77 for a concert of Motorhead fan...a massacre probably...lol but seriously i'm a fan of their albums from 65 to 74 then they turn really disco like a bad version of the discoid Bee Gees.
I often listen the album "Evolution" very pop and soft psychedelic ...and if i remember Carrie Anne was recorded at the same time (67)

    I listen to

    Spooky Tooth
    "Waitin' For The Wind"
    -Spooky Two- LP 1969

A great band who was quite successfull in late 60's (then they split) then in 73 they reform for 3 albums (less successful commercially).
It sound a little bit like the Rolling Stones of 69 or The Small Faces or even early Humble Pie.

Your soul is divided between alternative progressive rock(Mars Volta) and comercial punk rock(sum 41)... Even if i'm not a fan of Mars Volta (i found them good in a few songs) ...i Hope your alternative side will win the battle :)

    I listen to

The Hollies (not the cup of tea of alternative or punk rocker)
    "Wings" (bonus track)
    -Hollies sing Hollies- LP 1969

It's not the best album by the hollies (Nash leave the band one year before this record came out) but this song is really soft and spatial...like a bird flyin' in the sky...and lookin' at those little ants called human...

But in fact this song is wrote by Nash just before he leave and was destined to another album projected to be recorded in mid 68...but the other members of the band & the label company killed the project...they wanted to take a more commercial direction and record an album of covers of Dylan songs while Nash wanted to go further in a psychedelic pop folk/ less commercial direction...so Nash frustrated leave the band... crossed the Atlantic Ocean and by the first snow in the end 68 form Crosby Still Nash...
