Nose Piercings

I'm thinking of getting my nose pierced, nothing huge, just a little stud on the left side. I was wondering though, if after a few months I decide to take it out- or once in a while if I feel like taking it out, will there be a noticeably large, (or if any) hole or imprint on my nose? And if I decide to permanently take it out, will it eventually close up and heal without notice there was once something there?

I also heard about sometimes when you get things pierced, a bump or some kind of hard surface can form, is it rare and what do I do do prevent it?
Any advice you can give, or experiences you've had with nose piercings..I've been toying with the idea for a while, and once my friend turns 18 in a few months, I think I'd like to actually do it. Thanks

 

I love nose piercings, however just the nostrils, not septums.. anyway i believe it leaves a scare that looks kind of like a blemish, nothing too noticeable.

 

unless it rejects badly, it shouldnt leave too much.. and what can be left is generally not overly noticable.. seen plenty close up completely without a sign of it ever being there.. and a few with just small prints of where it was..

 

i still have a small scar from my nostril piercing. its not all that noticable really. i notice it of course b/c i know its there but im not sure that others do. its really nothing.

 

Well, just a standard stud shouldn't leave a big scar. If it gets ripped, it might. Otherwise, expect a scar that looks like a little black head.

Once its fully healed, you'll be able to take it out for a little while. It'll eventually close up to the point of you not being able to reinsert the stud, but you'll always have a little scar.

 

i really want to get my nose pierced about how much does it cost? i live in california. we have a cool new tatoo-piercing studio near us i'm gonna go check out.

my sister took hers out and I forget she ever had one, she has just a tiny dark pin prick thing. I've had mine for 10 years, I can't imagine not having it! cost me £6 at a beauty salon.

 

Just make sure that they don't put a hoop in with too big of a gauge and you should be OK.

When I got mine done about three and a half years ago...they used a hoop with a big gauge...I hated it, took it out, and put a stud in. It took awhile to heal. Just make sure they pierce with a stud if that's all you want...if it's a small hole, you won't have anything noticable.

 

I got a 21 gauge nostril screw 10 years ago. I nver wear it since I work so much now and I have a small open hole the size of a pore it is not noticable at all.

Face piercings in my area (central CA) usually run around $40.

 

get it needled, not gunned. a gun is a very cheap alternative, but its just not good for you.. here in NZ you can get a nose piercing gunned for about $10 i think (6-7us?) and nose needled for around.. 40ish maybe.. not too sure as i dont have it.. bottom line, a needle is far better!

 

the first time I pierced my nose after about a month i had this big ugly thing that looked like a pimple but it didnt bust or anything...it looked really bad but didn't hurt... I waited a few weeks to see if it went away but it didn't... I ended up taking it out... It got back to normal in about a week

I liked it so much i got it done again in a month... it bled alot... but never got the bump again. The only thing I did diferently was that I stoped using this antibiotic ointment and only used disinfecting soap (protex or dial). I made sure it had no artificial colors and that it was odorless. I would clean it maybe twice a day or if I touched it or sweated. It important to always wash your hands with that soap also... This way it healed super fast and it never got infected... I ve had it for two years know and haven't had any probs. and as far as scaring... when I don't have it on it just looks like a small blackhead.

try and not get the nose bone stud at first....those hurt most people......

 

no shit its better but make sure the people use a needle pusher. Makes it go faster.

 

It looks like a pore if you take it out and let it heal. Nothing at all.

I think that the little studs are cute. I want one, for my 16th birthday, but my mom said no. I only could get my cartalage peirced. And I have been waiting for that for over a year!

 

first off you cant just take it out if you feel like it, they close up frighteningly quick. they sell clear plugs you can put in. But as i said, they close up quick. when i removed it the first time there was what looked like a pimple scab - a pale pale pink dot on my nose- for a few weeks that i barely even noticed unless i looked for it.

In my experience, at least, they heal quickily (at least on the surface, the cartilage itself probably takes a while to be completely healed) and as long as you take care of it as the piercing heals you dont have to worry about a scar. but if you think you want to take it out now and then - buy a clear plug (you can get them online for only 2 or 3 dollars, its not bad at all)

i say go for it if youve wanted it for a while! I love mine, i love the way it looks..

and if you change your mind you can just take it out!

 

alot of people think i may have a lenny kravitz thing going on, so i was thinking that maybe a nose piercing might look good.....any thoughts?
