Just wear long pants that cover your feet and go barefoot or just wait until youre inside and just slip the shoes off. Nobody has to notice. What they dont know wont hurt em.
I went barefoot for about six weeks this summer since I took the summer off from school. I really wanted to see how long I could go barefoot and since I was down to only one pair of shoes that were falling apart, so I threw them away. For that whole time, no shoes, socks or sandals...nothing. I've liked going barefoot for a long time, but this was kind of a low grade thrill for me. There was just something about knowing that I didn't own any shoes and that if I went anywhere I would have to go barefoot. When I finally had to break down and get another pair of shoes, I felt really clumbsy. For a couple of days I stumbled quite a bit because I just wasn't used to wearing shoes.
I was barefoot all summer, and as usual, as the Maine winter approaches, I have begun the transition, gradually, to sandals. Can still be bare some days because this has been a very mild fall for us. Real shoes, not yet, but it's coming soon. The ground is finally freezing up, and our first real snowstorm may be here in two days. That'll do it, and I've dug out some low cut running/work shoes for when the time comes. But for now, I'm still in my Chaco sandals, even last weekend with the small snowcover we had on ground. This is dooable, if one can work in the sun.
