    Hey There
This looks like an interesting forum

To make a short story long: My name is Randy. My hippy life started 34 years ago at the age of 16 in the mountains of Colorado. It was a paradise for hippies, wide open spaces an abundant supply of acid and pot. I would have never left if the traffic laws weren't so strict. I lost my license and moved to Dallas when I was 19 to help out my parents for a couple of years till I could drive in Colorado again. With hair past the bottom of my shirt pocket and bell bottom jeans covered with leather patches pot leaf and mushroom artwork. Man, was I ever out of place. I did manage to find other misfits there though. When I was 23 I had a little addiction problem with needles and crystal. I gave up drugs totally cut my hair and Moved to Houston and became a "model citizen" got married, raised a son. But I never fit in. It wasn't me. It was when I had a herniated disk in my neck lying in bed on disability for 5 months not knowing if I would ever be able to work again I had time to think. It was the first time I had taken a really good look at my life. I had given up more than drugs. I had given up myself and became one of those rats in the race. No more Mother Earth News no more rolling stone. I didn't even listen to music anymore. At the same time I was evauating my life my wife was doing the same and she decided that my disability income wouldn't support her in the lifesytle she deserved so she spent all our money and racked up a few thousand in bills and married a man she thought was a millionare before our divorce was even final. Turns out he was a pennyless con man and she is now $100,000.00 in debt. I recovered after having the disk removed and the joint fused. I'm trying to save up enough money to buy some land in Colorado and build a house on it. Something earth friendly and unusual. Maybe one that blends into the mountainside so people can't even tell a house is there. My other goal is to find a new mate. I miss the companionship. Someone to share the adventure of life with.

P.S. Is there a forum for alternative building methods here? Any people into building dwellings with cobb, shockcrete, papercrete, straw bale or any other interesting materials?
