I think of fashions as a mainstream thing...80's was the overpadded shoulders in any womens tops and jackets, wide tight belts on everything. terrible acid wash jeans, the mall bangs poofy hair thing...and alotta disco gone bad too...

I wore grunge before there was grunge, lol!! To me it was just comfy clothes. Hell, I still dress funny.

The 90's got back into clean lines and a more natural look and brought back some fabric patterns I adored like paisleys and high end retro.

I'm gonna go with the 90's. Although I grew up in the 80's and did the whole punk, new wave thing, I lived in my gothy black baby dolls and jeans all the time in the 90
's ( Baby doll dresses came out in the early 90's)

80's for me was just full of bad fashion. 90's had some bad fashion too, as do all decades, but I liked how I dressed more in the 90's: black gothy baby doll dresses over jeans with black maryjane's and black and white striped stockings!

i like the "decontructed" that can be found in some of 80's clothes... and I really like legwarmers.. but they are the clothes of my childhood, so of course i remember them fondly (hours in pink leggings and legwarmers in front the the barre).

Put like others, I also remember tights and babydoll dresses with Doc Martins. lol. What a weird look.. but man, i was cool... hahahhaha.

Definitely the 80s, especially the 80s rock/metal look. The whole 90s mainstream rock look works fine for many, but it just isn't for me.

but it started in the 80s and then continued into the 90s. so it was around in the 80s. regardless of what decade though, i would NOT want to wear what all the "cool" kids were wearing or what was in the fashion magizines.

I definitely prefer the 90's look, though I was 3 when the eighties ended. Haha, remember stirrup pants and baggy sweaters? The stirrup pants mainly. I still don't understand what the purpose of a little piece of elastic under your feet was, but I owned a ton of them when I was 8 or 9. I kind of miss those...lol.

I gota go with the grunge. Seems closer to the 60's. Just not caring what you looked like. You can get flannels at goodwill and salvation army easy. Converse will always be just your basic sneaker (I hate the reflective crap they have on shoes today and how complicated they are; More stitching=more places water can get in.)

Actually, Grunge at first was the absense of fashion. It wasn't until you could actually buy ripped jeans when it got silly. Isn't this coming back? seems like everyone's at college has these jeans ripped at the knee.

What the hell is original. Look at things and how they go in cycles. All these so called designers making a mint and it's all been done before.
