Knit this bag about a week ago, but just got around to felting it the other day. Finally dry enough to snap a shot of today.

It's also made of recycled wool...double stranded. This time I used a green sweater's wool, with a strand of the "hat sweater" wool. Still need to attach some buttons to hold the flap down, but holding out for a couple that I like.

Duh, I thought the image was a design on a bag. The bag is beautiful. How did you recycle the wool? Do you unravel a wool sweater? or breakdown the fibers further than that? My friend raises sheep and would probably like to know.

I just unravel cheap thrift store sweaters. An average skein of "new" wool costs around $5 US.... I bought the green sweater for $2, and got about 5 skeins of wool from it. Its super easy to do, and really cost effective!

There is a pic of all the sweaters I unravelled used in this project in the "hat sweater" thread, and also in my gallery, if interested!
