I was just wondering if aneone could possible give me a ratio of how much kief u would get from a certain amount of buds and for leaves like how much kief could u make from say an ounce of quality bud if u ground it through one of those grinders with the screen on the bottom that collects the trichomes. the kind u could buy at headshops. thanx
those arent too good in my opinion, the kief collectors. The purity will be low.... Quantities of trichomes in the plant vary alot, and the quality you will get (and quantity) depends on the method you use... With good stuff, you get about 5-10% of the weight, in kief. So with an ounce of crystallized trimmings, 2-3 grams. If you use bud, make it like 15-20%. And those numbers are very estimative. A tip. Take the screen of the grinder you talk about, and place it on the end of say a toilet paper tube. Make sure it stays in place and put some green in the tube, and shake over a big book or whatever to collect the trichomes, that will fall through the screen. BTW dont use bud that you buy. A waste.
i was actually thinking about using the grinder b/c you could still get high off the bud after the kief is collected so i could sell the bud and collect the kief to smoke myself
